Instanalysis - Texas Bowl

Here is Marcus Johnson's quote --

“Guys that don’t have that (winning) mentality or always have it, it can be turned around.  You look at guys like John (Harris) who faced so much adversity and turned it into a 1,000 season. It’s something that’s possible in all of us, and it comes from accountability and holding each other to a certain standard.â€

Hey GBT, have you ever taken over a project that was a total shitstorm when you got there and you had to tear it down and go out and buy better quality material and pretty much start over. That is what this staff faces at this time and it will take time to rebuild it to our standards. Don't take this personal, but all of your posts are so negative and are really depressing. Please give this staff some time with their own recruits and see where it goes. If it fails, then I will join you on bitching about where the program is headed. Sorry about my rant but I see enough of negative bullshit on OB.

Have you heard the saying," He can beat yours with his and his with yours." ??? Great coaches can do that.

Seldomseenhorn, Did you watch the Texas Bowl ? Pretty darn depressing huh ? Would Darrell Royal or Woody Hayes, etc.. have beaten Arky ? No, not with our talent. Would they have been embarrassed like that ? I don't think so. They may even have been beaten by 30, but it wouldn't have been THAT ugly.

Compare Texas to the teams Arky played this year. Look what they did vs what Texas' offense did. Keep in mind those teams didn't have talent on defense like Texas. Look at the stats and final scores. Nicholls State vs Arky....UAB vs Arky check out the stats.

Take away QB position and this team was very much like last year. Put Vinklarik in place of Swoopes and who knows, it might have been very similar. Vinklarik may be as good as Case..???? We don't know....Because the coaches didn't TRY anything in a game to help this team.
The point I'm at is Mack was 8-4 with this group and held Oregon to only 16 offensive points or something like that.

If I'm working on a building project and I have rotten wood...I don't use that rotten wood. I use something else even if it isn't oak, I USE IT instead of the rotten wood. I try someone ...anyone...at QB so my players know I am trying to win for them, and not throwing their season away like Charlie and Watson did this last season.

GBT, I think We played one of the worst games I have ever seen Us play or anyone else play offensively. I don't think the players wanted to be there and it showed, but I also think the Hogs at this time are probably the best team in the SEC and probably beat Bama 2 out 3 times if they re-played. I saw what their Coach put together at Wis. and it was just a matter of time until he did it at Arky. My point was let's tone down the negativity and give Charlie a chance to get his recruits here and start getting the results we are expecting. If the Cowboys had run Jimmy Johnson off after his first season, would they have had 3 Super Bowls to show for it. Let's just keep positive and I truly believe good things will happen.

Thankful for my time at such a great University, was able to accomplish

so many of my goals in these past 4 years and I can only thank the Man

above! Didn't accomplish everything I wanted but it was a great ride that

I wouldn't trade for the world! I appreciate everyone that has supported

me over these years, it's a blessing to come so far being from such a

small town like Angleton! Friendships that will last forever were made

over these last 4 years and I'm thankful for it all!

^^^^ To me Diggs is one of the unsung heroes of 2014.

This was a Sr. that bought into the CS era to lead verbally and by example - early on.

He was an incredibly hard worker and a kid that spent extra hours in the video room to prepare better for the next opponent.

I was not on the team to observe but I would go so far as to say, since Dec. 2013 or shortly after, I suspect Diggs was the glue on the team to keep them together & focused during the coaching change, the adjustments, multiple suspensions, a rash of injuries and frequent poor play the team experienced.

You played with complete dedication, incredible pride, heart and deep passion for yourself, your team and The University of Texas!

My hat is off to you Mr. Diggs - thank you.

Hook Em!!
