It wouldn't have mattered who the QB was last night.  Absolutely no time to do anything.  That being said, doubt the QB who leads this team to a conference title is on the roster 

We would've ended up losing probably but I liked what Heard did in his limited snaps. He just didn't have a chance to get in a rhythm after he got the wind knocked out of him last night.

Does last nights game or the beat down by BYU piss you off more? I wouldn't be quite as pissed if there wasn't so much sunshine written and said during the offseason and I fall for it again. Why does it take so freaking long to rebuild at Texas? Other teams do it why can't we? Ark, A&M, Baylor, TCU. Why so long at Texas?

Woke up this morning hoping last night was a bad dream but crap, it wasn't.

Big Strong supporter but the decisions and comments made last night by him about sticking with Swoopes put a big chink in his armor.

Watson should be on the hot seat. His comment last night was asinine. Charlie needs to be looking around to see who he can get as an offensive coordinator.

Heard should start from here on out, period. Swoopes might be a good kid but he is not a D1 QB, it's as simple as that.

 " He was competing hard"  doesn't give us the best chance to win.  It's that simple.  Heard is a gamer, Swoopes isn't.

A loss to Rice (who put up 56 points last night, admittedly against a shyte team) and the dam will burst.

Hard to predict what all it will wash downstream when it does.

I woke up this morning wondering if my thoughts last night were just a knee jerk reaction or an overreaction. Nope.  And, like tejas, I found some of the comments from Strong, Watson, and Bedford to be quite curious or borderline stupid to say the least. 

I'm sick of Strong's rhetoric... " You gotta run the ball. You gotta play good defense. You gotta control the clock."  That's all fine and dandy but you also have to put your players in the best position to win and SCORE SOME POINTS.  Shit, SMU scored 3 td's on Baylor with their personnel and Chad Morris is in his first year....What does that say about Texas ? It's not the 70's anymore, Charlie, get with the times. .

I mean why put Swoopes back in after Jerrod Heard gave the offense a spark ? Why was Jonathan Gray so underutilized ? and a million other things I can't remember right now..

Rice isn't the old Rice anymore. They won 8 last year with a blowout bowl win. The crowd is going to be grumpy from the start and if the game starts badly, it might get ugly at DKR.

Note that the other teams' defense has outscored our offense. Yet, according to Watson, the offense is making progress.

I guess that's the Watson "improvement" -- no turnovers last night.

Buuuut, giving up 38 points with no turnovers makes the defense look even worse.

Saw that as well. Someone asked him about Norvell taking over and he shot that down real quick. Said Norvell was just like Watson.

It is the same offense, we just sped it up.

We practiced snap timing to cut the length of time between snaps.

They were measuring it and can quote you the elapsed time average.

Saw that as well. Someone asked him about Norvell taking over and he shot that down real quick. Said Norvell was just like Watson. 

That's why Stoops fired him. Stoops went back to the Mike Leach offense to where the system does not depend on having a five star QB. Mike Leach at Texas Tech always had good QB play even though none of his QB's could play in the NFL.
