When players are saying stuff like this publicly, it is never a good look. Whether it was the frustration talking or not, it will be spun in a number of ways.

Hilariously, the extra points aren’t even the thing I’m most mad about. This referee crew didn’t get up to the outright criminality that Alan Eck’s bunch managed last year, but they were criminally ignorant of:

III. NCAA Approved Ruling 9-1-2-XVIII-XX

XVIII. Team A is in an obvious scrimmage kick formation. Immediately after the snap, nose guard B55 charges directly at the snapper, contacts him, and drives him backward. The ball is snapped to an upback three yards behind the scrimmage line or to the potential kicker, who instead runs with or passes the ball.  RULING: Foul. Penalty – 15 yards and automatic first down. The snapper may not be contacted until one second has elapsed after the snap when Team A is in a scrimmage kick formation and it is reasonably obvious that a kick might be attempted.

OSU rushed head up and jacked the deep snapper on all three of their XP blocks, with the first two situations being borderline-ish while the third was fully blatant. Texas at least paid them back by illegally rushing head-up over OSU’s snapper in the second half to get a block of their own, but a 4-1 exchange on lost points wasn’t much of a salve.

I'm not pointing this out as an excuse, but if there is anything to be irritated about with regard to the kicks, it is the quality of the Big 12 officials this year.  They are a joke.

Don't even get me started on the uncalled late hit on D'Onta.  I just hope he is ok.

The biggest issue with Strong is his evaluation of assistant coaches.  What happens when another school offers Gilbert a HC job?  Is he going to bring in another Watson?  I don't have any faith left in him.

Strong is a great recruiter and a good man but hes not getting it done.  

I remember loving the defense his first year.  Now its just embarrassing to watch.  No more excuses.

Evidently we missed the late hit, as I said before we were there and the play he went out on he just ran then went down on his own in pain so we were confused as to what happened. To him and warren as well. Can ya fill us in?

D'Onta -- I don't think there's been an official appointment, but speculation is rib or oblique pull. Many think it happened when he got late hit after his long touchdown run. He says he'll be back for OU next week

Warren -- not sure. Even on TV, didn't see his injury. I found out by ESPN alert at halftime that he had some sort of knee injury and was out for the rest of the game. Timetable tbd

I think it was when he was tackled after his 46 yard run. I remember him getting up & slowly making his way off the field. Looked like he just went down awkwardly, like his leg got rolled or something
