I hinted a day ago that Chris Warren's injury could be serious. According to Alex Dunlap of orangebloods.com, Warren will be out anywhere from 6-8 weeks. There are only 8 weeks left in the season. If Texas plays in a bowl game, Warren could be healthy enough to play. However, it is possible that Warren could get a medical redshirt, since he has only played in 3.5 out of Texas' 12 games on the schedule. For those unaware, a player is eligible for medical redshirt if they play in less than 30% of the team's games that season. It will be very close. Without Warren, the Longhorns will definitely have to rely heavily on D'onta Foreman and utilize the 18-wheeler package more often. Let's see how Sterlin Gilbert game plans without a key ingredient on Saturday.

Oh wow, I didn't realize "number of games played" could be divided up into halves. I thought since he played in 4 out of 12, he was just over the limit for a medical RS. In that case, it's actually a very good thing that he was injured in the 1st half, not the 2nd.

It may be that way. But since I've seen other be optimistic, that was an assumption of mine. I will have to dig deeper on this.

If indeed Warren is determined to have played 3.5 games instead of 4, his percentage of games played for the season is 29%. If it's 4 games, he played 33%. Again, this will be close.
