Was talking with my dad last night and we both agreed: we knew for years we were behind the times (for quite a while) with Mack as head coach and that moving forward there shouldn't be any candidates worse than Mack. Although underwhelming, I would even be ok to give Franklin the keys and would think there wouldn't be much of a drop-off. But please not Franklin lol

Mack Brown has stepped down. Rather it was Friday or sat that's what we all wanted.

Texas made a great hire in Steve Patterson IMO and deloss dodds is out to pasture.

I would think think this is the time to be excited. Texas is making change and for the first time in 16 years Texas will have someone new running the football program. I'm excited to see who it is and what they do in terms of everything.

This will be Steve pattersons hire. I really don't get already assuming it's going to suck but I just don't view things that way

Agree with Dizz. Give Patterson a chance he seems like a very competent guy

And since things have been very quiet, I think he has shut up the leaks and is going to run a tight ship, another good thing

It would be easy to be a little "off kilter" with the events of the last week as well as the sub-par performance that we have seen by this team. I can't say I haven't been depressed with them. I won't use the normal one liners or "pick-me-ups", but rather consider this...

Each year in August, a fresh canvas is laid before us and we bare witness to it's painting. Some years we get Picasso and other years we get finger painting of a child. But as we would not turn down a fresh painting from Picasso, we shouldn't turn down the painting of the child. The players absolutely need our support. I suspect they don't get it 100% behind the scenes. We can spend a few weeks or even a few months down about the previous season. But don't let that feeling linger. In time, the feeling will pass and we will be awaiting the next canvas and the next artist.
