Why so many people trash this board on other sites lately yet clearly read what's posted? The dislike for Mcphaul by some seems pretty strong which makes no sense considering people called for his info often when he was still elsewhere.
So far this board has picked up some of the best posters out there who are sick of places with constant personal attacks and general lack of intelligence. Maybe people see the potential in this place as a threat...I dunno but what in the world here sucks so bad to see it bashed every time it's mentioned elsewhere?Strange

DizzG my friend there are a lot more people who like and respect McPhaul for the good man he is than that small group who don't like him. McPhaul and the other insiders try very hard to bring us good quailty information and I don't thank McPhaul are the other insiders enough for what they bring to Horn Sports. Every group has got those who would rather bitch and cause problems to get the attention they don't get at home are from the posters on this site. So instead of being part of what is going to be a great place to talk Texas sports they want to bitch. Let them bitch if we ignore them and don't give them the attention they crave they will go away. Hmmmm. It was my observation that the IT posters that bashed OB were primarily OB deserters. IT does have a cadre of curmudgeons that pride themselves on their self appointed board police status and their self perceived wit, but that is common on blog boards.

If you are looking for a message board, without criticisms, good luck on your endeavors.

I go to sites for information on Texas sports and to hear from fellow fans/graduates of the University of Texas. The other sites are brutal and to me show a serious lack of class. I personally do not have time for that. I certainly hope this site stays above the frey in that regards.

So do you think Mack has done a solid job the past several years? What kinda shape do you think he's leaving the program in? Has the fanbase not been fractured?

Do you think as even Mack admitted the BB's are back scattered out of the box, and its time for someone else to come put them back?

You apparently think no one knows anything, has any sources, has any clue of whats really going on or did go on, and the majority on this and other boards knows very little about football in general.

EDIT: After re-reading this post, it occurred to me that, particularly in this day and age, I sounded like a chauvinistic old fossil. Some women might be offended. I'm new, and objectively, I've noticed a lot more nastiness coming from OB's than either IT or HS. I get the feeling the mods encourage it, it's a very passive aggressive kind of eye-rolling and haughtiness, which is laughable considering the content of 80% of the posts. Also, I think dogging McPhaul is their way of a) sucking up to CB and Ketch and B) distancing themselves in the event Saban never shows. Let me say, too, that when I see other sites trashed here (which is a lot less often than some would make it out) posters here, McPhaul, Shaunsters, SHL, etc. are quick to defend OB/IT/CB/JS/and even Ketch. And I think Ketch comes off like a cocky a-hole, you NEVER see them defending somebody who isn't 'one of their own.' Clearly, I'm okay with personal attacks, but I'm not often indicting people for differences in opinion, which seems to be their MO. I make general judgments based on a poster's tone, the content of their posts, and whether they share much of substance. For example, Ketch's 'Ten thoughts from the weekend?' Total garbage, serving more as an excuse to 'hear himself talk' than anything else. So, personal attack? I guess. But if I don't have anything nice to say, I won't normally engage... as opposed to some whose sole reason for engaging is because they never have anything nice to say. And in that vein- HS > TOS. So, yeah. That's my feedback here.

Each site has some GREAT information, but some of those posters are absolutely miserable individuals. I think it is pretty much a snapshot of society. We have way too many depressed and angry people. It's sports, people. It's a message board. Lighten up!

I know I may be in the minority, but I am tired of posts with half naked women all throughout them. If you wanna do that, then create a special board for that. Help a happily married brotha out! Sheesh.

Let me guess. You're the guy at the party who stands by himself because you think you're the smartest guy in the room. I've never said Mack did no good at Texas. But stop trying to anoint him. And 16 yrs and 2 conference titles at a place like Texas is a joke. No MNC is going to gloss over this lack of achievement at the highest level. And to say the last 4 years deserves anything other than being escorted out is ridiculous.

Mack has done a lot to resurrect the Texas program. But he is no savior. He's only been a good steward of the university assets. It's time for a change. The University of Texas is the real asset here. Not Mack Brown.

Last night was the 2nd time in 10 years I emailed Ketch about the way people are allowed to curse and run smack behind a computer knowing dang well they wouldn't have the balls to say it to your face.

LOL - while I can agree with your distaste for pornographic and semi-pornographic images, don't go totally overboard. I think most of us can appreciate a beautiful woman without offending our better halves. Like I told the love of my life once "Hey, just because I got married doesn't mean I got my eyes punched out".

That remark wound up costing me an $85,000 Mercedes.

What you say is totally true. Unfortunately you can't post an opinion on this board that differs from what the majority of posters want to hear unless you want to face a lot of animosity. I don't think twice if my husband's eyes trickle towards an attractive woman, I have no problem with pornography in moderation, and I'll even send him sexy tumblr gifs every now and then to make the day go by faster; that's a far cry, however, from how I'd feel if he spent his days filling football message boards with posts of naked women.
