Nah hes totally awkward and painful to watch at QB.  How many times does he have to run into our RB during handoffs?  He did it against twice vs WV and fumbled because of it in OSU game.  Everyone says hes athletic but DL chase him down.  Hes about  athletic as a 3 legged elephant.

Besides I believe we heard it all when Watson was talking opening it up in the Spring.  Swoopes went what 1-9 his senior season?  I just dont see it.  The kid has a great game then a horrible game.  Unless its screens, curls, flare passes ( ala Troy Aikman at UCLA ) he can barely complete 30% of his passes in 3 games.

Hes a good kid but a chamionship QB he is not.  I bet he doesnt get the start next year.

I checked the stats on Watson's last student Teddy Bridgewater which shows Swoopes stats are close to Bridgewater's first year as a starter.

Yards Swoopes  2152 TB 2129

Com percentage Swoopes 58.8 TB 64.5

TD-interceptions Swoopes 12-6 TB 14-12

Rating Swoopes 122.9 TB 132.9

Bridgewater's stats also show he improved the next season and he improved again his final season when he was a NFL first round pick. Swoopes has shown the ability to improved and Watson has talked about he has good study habits and wants to improve.

As far as Swoopes being a championship QB that's under the assumption which you have made that he won't improve, you don't know that. Swoopes this year has been a better passer than Vince Young was his first year playing.

I do hope we recruit a JUCO QB or transfer and let Swoopes, Heard, and whoever compete for the job next year.

Dayum DMAC, did Swoopes stiff you on a bet or steal your girlfriend or something?  You sure are being harsh here.  Kid has 9 career starts under his belt, is 5-4, and has had to learn on the fly all season.  Ease up.  He has shown some significant strides this year, and while there are many that clamor for Heard to be starting, I trust that this staff puts the best players on the field that they feel give us the best chance to win the ball games.  Not seeing Heard out there tells me that he may not be ready yet.

I have to say, you're doing one helluva troll job here DMAC.  I'll play along a little longer. 

A) In the games you mentioned, both Brown and Colt had FAR better OL than Swoopes has had to deal with this season.  This OL has played together as a unit now for only 5 games.  It has been bailing wire and duct tape this year.

B) Rose?  Are you kidding me?  You're griping about a kicker?  He's tied for 32nd in the country as a kicker; missed 2 PAT & 7 FGs (4 from 40+)

Here's our history on kickers; as you can see it varies greatly by year; and none are perfect.  They're freaking kickers; there are so many larger problems on this team than this.

• 2005-Pino T35; missed 6 PAT & 4 FGs (3 under 39) (BTW-National Championship year; missed 6 PAT....6.)
• 2006-Bailey T105; missed 1 PAT & was 6/6 on FGs;
