Terry L. Saban of Tuscaloosa, Ala., the wife of Alabama football coach Nick Saban, has purchased nearly two acres of vacant land at Perkins Rowe for $750,000, according to documents filed at the city-parish Clerk of Court. The two tracts—0.94 acres and 0.85 acres—were contractually signed by Terry Saban as "sole member" of TLS Investments LLC, listed as a Louisiana company. However, the Louisiana Secretary of State lists Tuscaloosa as TLS' base of operations. Henry Perret Jr., the listed agent for TLS in Lafayette, declined to discuss any details of the sale or say what Saban has in store for the site. Nick Saban and Perkins Rowe developer Tommy Spinosa have done business together in the past, and were also revealed to be co-owners of Central Facilities LLC, which supplies chilled water to the mixed-use development's air-conditioning system. That connection was revealed when KeyBank National Association of Cleveland began the foreclosure process on Spinosa for unpaid loans in 2010. Spinosa, who is listed as manager of 5615 Associates LLC, which sold the land to Terry Saban, also declined to comment on the deal and plans for the site.

Terry Saban has real estate investments in Baton Rouge and, I believe, Texas. It is strictly business related, but this is first I've read it in that kind of detail. Of course, I don't have a sub at IT and perhaps I should!

Description: The Baton Rouge Business Report reveals that the wife of former LSU Head Coach, Nick Saban has purchased almost two acres of land in the Perkins Rowe area, near the Mall of Louisiana. Terry Saban reportedly paid $750,000 for the property. The main developer in Perkins Rowe is Tommy Spinosa. He is also developing the Rouzan project near Stanford Avenue and Lee Drive in Baton Rouge.

Spinosa and Nick Saban have had business ties since Saban coached the LSU football team. Spinosa has been in the news recently because of legal battles over loans tied to Perkins Rowe. It is unclear whether Terry Saban is investing in the Perkins Rowe project to help Spinosa weather cash flow problems, or if she thinks Perkins Rowe is a solid investment. No word on what will be built on the property.

Nick Saban and Tommy Spinosa are already partners in a company that supplies chilled water to companies in the development of air-conditioning.

Sale of an "investment property" on Lake Burton in Georgia. Home was just south of $11 million dollars. Undisclosed buyer and price

The 9,600 square foot, six-bedroom, nine-bathroom estate was quietly sold last week in an auction that included eight bidders, according to a press release from Concierge Auctions. Neither the name of the winner nor the amount of money it took to win the auction were disclosed, but it was apparently one of the area's largest in recent memory.

The buyer was represented by Ed West of Ed West Realty, Inc., according to the release.

"This is the highest sale price on the lake in many years, which is exciting to be part of," West said in the release. "I've been familiar with this property from the beginning — throughout its construction. It was developed for a family to use and enjoy, and my clients, their children and grandchildren will certainly do so. They are extremely excited to be purchasing their dream home and will be a great addition to the Lake Burton family."

The buildup of the home's sale drew interest for months, especially after it was revealed that Saban would also offer Crimson Tide football tickets, sideline passes and an office tour at the same auction. Proceeds raised from the ticket package went to Saban's Nick's Kids charity.

The auction was initially scheduled for June 7, but a "surge of late interest" prompted officials to delay it for another three weeks.

According to Concierge Auctions, the website that showcased the home was visited more than 31,000 times from residents of 49 states and 49 other countries. Alabama, of course, led the way.
