HS Members Prediction Thread: Texas Tech

My gut says they drop another close game, late 38-35 tortilla tossers.  Maybe it will be cold and windy so Texas has to get the run game going.  I don't like night games at the Jones.

I felt this game would be more difficult than OSU or WV.

Losing 3 straight would be a disaster and would start to lead me to believe we're not on the right track.

We're on the right track, the defense has some players that are not up to snuff on the defensive front.  Finding a QB was huge!  Schedules play out the way they play out.  Losing a couple close games that they still haven't learned to put away.  I'd be concerned if they got blown out.

O stays the course.

D bends by keeping the ball in front with help to prevent it going over the top.

A guy can hope, right?

Saw that their QB was released from the hospital today. Didn't say if he would play. Doubt that he will.

Herman was asked about the defense after the Oklahoma State loss and he said he would talk to Orlando. It didn't look they had to talk. Hopefully, we will get some players off the MASH unit.

Duffey didn't look bad against OU. Unless we fix our defense he will look like Pat Mahones.

I hate to live in the past, but I still wish Duvernay would have fallen down at the 10 or even the 5 after his catch.

Can they contain Duffey and force him to make bad throws?  Key to the outcome.

There is no way that freshmen is playing with the reoccurance of a collapsed lung.

Duffey was a 50% passer versus a worse defense than our own.  Key is pressure, a spy on Duffey and forcing bad throws.

He also kept them in the game and threw 2 TD's with on interceptions. The way the defense has played for the last two weeks makes it questionable if OU's defense is worse than UT's defense.

It's worse, Texas front 7 is lacking and they've had poor gap integrity and poor tackeling the last few weeks, but....OU sucks.

Lubbock at night, cold and windy = recipe for disaster. That said, straight from the heart because my head knows better  Horns  45       saggies  42

Brutal..........

Until this defense slows down an offense like Techs they dont get a pass. I cant predict Texas will only punt on one drive the entire game like they did against WVU.

Sand Aggy 38, Texas 37.  Now prove me wrong boys.

Agree. Running on OU or throwing on OU are two of the easiest tickets in town.

But our D, for whatever reason, has not been its normal self the past two -three games. We were getting it done, then somehow the wheels fell off.

Some other predictions . . .

– It will feel outright WEIRD when you see Tech's defense play . . . or even recognize that Tech is now fielding a defense this year. They're not bad at all.

– I think their backup QB isn't bad, but he's not the starter for a reason. You can see a distinct difference in their offense when he's in there and when the starter is in there. So I feel we'll see a Tech offense at about 3/4 of their normal capacity.

– Texas has got to be careful not to let Tech get and keep momentum. Once you're down, its tough to come back in that place. We need to come out punching.

– One interesting matchup IMO is the Tech DBs vs Texas' receiving corps.

– Just a warning, before you start thinking Kingsbury is cool for outlawing the horns down sign. He did that to avoid penalties only.

– OU sucks.

I read that if Sam can throw 26 more passes without an interception then he will set the Big 12 record for consecutive passes without an interception. He also had a low interception rate in HS.
