Thanks for posting SHA. Good stuff.

Camas, (5-0,) has a rare Thursday varsity game this week with a 4AGSHL League matchup at Battle Ground (2-3.)

Last week, Camas Junior QB Liam Fitzgerald was 21 of 28 passing for 366 yards and 6 total TDs (5 Pass, 1 Run.)  He was nominated for the NW Elite Index player of the week.

Senior WR James Price caught 9 passes for 171 yards and 3 TDs and won the Columbian's Week 5 Player of the week.

Camas is currently ranked #1 in 4A, #1 in the state of Washington and #38 in the country.

Battle Ground has a sophomore QB, Gunner Talkington, who has had a 500 yd game this season.  Last week, BG won their first 4AGSHL game over Heritage 33-22.  Talkington threw for 360 yds and 5 TDs.

Camas has been steam rolling opponents and looks to continue the trend this week.  They are averaging 47.6 points per game to their opponents' 10.2.  The defense has pitched one shutout, and allowed only one team, Skyview, to score more than 14 points.

Game time is tomorrow night at 7 PM PST.

So what do you know about Bellevue, ranked 12 in the national poll?

3A school that should be classified as 4A.  They are a solid, well-coached team, but they recruit to their school from all over the Seattle area.  They're a public school.  They keep their enrollment just under the 4A cutoff and are a regular participant in many sports in the state playoffs. They kill most of their competition at the 3A classification. Their Head Coach, Butch Goncharoff, has been there since 2004, and is 87-7.

They usually have a handful of players that get looks at D1 schools.

This year, they have a RB/LB, Mustafa Branch, 6'0" 215 lbs, with offers from Colorado, Northwestern, Washington St, Oregon St, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado St.  He's ranked in the top 10 in the NW.

Also Henry Roberts, OL/DL, 6'6" 280 lbs, offered by Arizona St., Arizona, Boise St., Cal, Oregon, Oregon St, Stanford, Washington St., Washington, USC, UCLA, and others.

We used to match up against them in the playoffs when we were 3A a few years back.  Camas moved to 4A last year.

So are they better than Camas? Or vice versa?

Last season, Camas played for the state championship in 4A, and lost.  Bellevue played for the 3A state championship and won.

I'd say the two teams are fairly evenly matched this year, and pretty much the last four years.  I'd love to see them play, but neither will schedule the other in non-league play.

I bet you'd get something started if you tried to start an effort to get them to play each other. he he

Sounds like we may see Camas break into the national poll soon.

Next week's game vs Union is HUGE. Rivalry game, schools are less than 5 miles apart. Union is ranked just below Camas.

Be watching for a preview of that one so we can include it in next week's edition.

I think the only questions left to ask are, 1) will STP be at the Boerne game Friday night?, and 2) Will he really hook up with Taylor Duck after the game?

I'll duck now, no pun intended STP he he

Wouldn't miss it. It's homecoming and the parade (yes they still have homecoming parades in Small Town, Texas) is tonight. District opener as well. The RRS ain't got nuthin' on Boerne Tx this weekend.

Re the legendary MTD, if he's reading, shoot me a PM. I'd like to get a picture.

You'll find him on OB with about 23 other screen names.

Good stuff. Thanks, SHA.

I'll be at Poteet v Forney tomorrow night. Looking forward to it even though Malik J. is not playing.

There's a player for Poteet that Texas is looking hard at. Can't recall his name but he'll be the fastest guy on the field wearing a Pirate uniform. I hear he's seriously talented.

Deandre McNeal

He plays O, D & ST for Poteet. Most services have him projected at LB, but he wants to play offense. Texas is talking to him about being immediate help at WR and that has his attention.

Who woulda thunk it, the polls are screwed up.  Manvel is better than Pearland - by a long shot.  And Pearland is really good.  Manvel will win the state championship.
