About Camas: What can we say about the Papermakers? They’re good. QB Liam Fitzgerald has passed for 1,488 yards and 15 TDs. WR James Price has 36 catches for 667 yards and 6 TDs, and he’s probably just as good as a defender. Bryan Kelly leads the ground game with 572 yards and 13 TDs. And the defense is very good. After Week 1, no team has been able to keep Camas below 49 points.

About Union: The Titans have a good ground game with a strong offensive line and RB Caleb Browning rushing for 767 yards and 13 TDs. The passing game has been inconsistent. The Titans will need all of their weapons this week.

Prep Proletariat says: Union needs to make this a defensive game, run the ball, shorten the game, keep it close. If Camas starts piling up points, I don’t see Union being able to keep up.

Prediction: Camas 38-21

I saw Manvel live last week and I don't know how they can drop....  I know nationally the rhyme/reason for rankings is completely arbitrary, but Manvel is REALLY GOOD.  I mean REALLY GOOD!

Those rankings are coming from Maxpreps, which does a composite of the rankings services which is what you're seeing. So the rise of one NJ school from 17 to 3 is pretty amazing. Did Deon Sanders enroll or something?

Two girls to suit up for West Sabine varsity football

The small town of Pineland will gets a huge surprise - and first - with two female athletes suiting up for the West Sabine Tigers varsity football team tonight.

A town full of team spirit has reacted thrilled beyond belief that sophomores Makenzie Welch and Ana-Raquel Vasques will have the opportunity to run through the banner under the Friday night lights and become the first females to play on the school's varsity squad.

"It's wonderful they can all get to play," head coach Tod Starks said. "They are girls, but on that field they are West Sabine Tiger football players."

Vasquez wears number 32 and plays wide receiver while teammate Welch plays defensive line wearing number 77. The girls have the opportunity because today's opponent, Joaquin, has no junior varsity team.

So the girls will travel with the team as varsity players and will get experience a much higher level of play. Kickoff is scheduled at 7 p.m.
