How sure are we that Saban is coming?

I've said this before, but the fact that Saban has not signed the Bama contract is a HUGE sign that he's on his way to Texas. He could've put this all to rest a while ago. So keep the hope alive. :)

He has said numerous times that the deal was done
You know how to copy/paste & to use the quote function? Show us where he said that this is a done deal instead of playing the "but he said..." game.

Lol ok. Whatever makes you feel better

If you go to the Alabama message boards they seem to think there is just NO chance he would ever leave considering the mess going on with Mack. If Saban does come here. I will have so much fun reading their threads. They all seem to think Mack is being mistreated.
I lived in Baton Rouge for ten years and am a product of SEC culture. Put away your pitchforks! I'm a military brat, grew up all over, have friends from all walks of life (and various football conferences). I've been a lifelong Longhorn fan, my mother, uncle, grandfather- they're all alumni, and we grew up coming to Austin for games. My family is all settled in Austin, we have deep Texas roots and my husband and I love raising our family in Longhorn country, but we have friends across the country, travel often and I've been to games in stadiums in every major conference. When Saban left LSU, we were upset, but we were excited for him to be moving 'up,' and he'd promised not to come back to a competing school so he was still revered by most. Now, I'm currently reconciled with his mercenary lifestyle and so super-stoked that he's coming to Texas, but after going to Bama and until recently he epitomized all that is evil for a Tiger fan, so I can imagine his leaving for another school stings a lot more than it did when he left us for Miami.

That said- SEC fans on the whole are hard to deal with, but between Auburn and Bama, they make up the worst of the worst. Like most southeastern states, Alabama has a shitty economy, is littered with terrible schools, and the admission rate isn't exactly low, but for whatever reason, Bama fans are convinced they are the Harvard of the South. There are exceptions to every rule, but for the most part these are the kind of fans who, as evidenced in their message forums, will go on for hours about 'Texas trailer trash' and 'new money,' then march out to a football game wearing cheap cocktail dresses and suit jackets. Whatever other kind of delusions they labor under, the worst of it is their inability to see how silly they look to the rest of the world. "Why would Saban ever want to leave Tuscaloosa?!" and "What does Austin have that Tuscaloosa doesn't?!" Their general lack of concern (or the appearance of it anyway) is a result of how unworldly they are, they aren't well-traveled, they don't have diverse groups of friends from other parts of the world (or the country even)- they live in a small, country Gone With the Wind wannabe bubble, and Nick Saban's football program legitimizes their feelings of elitism. Without him, they go back to being just another southern public university with average academic programs, stationed in a crap small town, and they'll have to compete with everybody else for decent recruits from out of state because they'll have lost their top draw.

This isn't about losing a top football coach, it's about their dreams of being better than you, smarter than you, richer than you, prettier than you, and bigger-dicked than you dissolving like tears into the hard red dirt around them. Expect people to get shot, girlfriends to be beat, couches to burn, and trees to be poisoned. It's gonna get ugly in Tuscaloosa. And selfishly, I can't wait to pull up my chair and my bowl of popcorn to watch.
