HornSports Members Prediction Thread: OU

This year, there's a midget at QB and a defense that is very generous and hospitable with opposing offenses.

you can call him whatever you want but that doesn't diminish his talent.  he will be the fastest qb that UT D will face to date; maybe all year.  if we don't put pressure on him AND contain him, it's going to be a long day.  if we can get to him, which we haven't all year, maybe we can rattle him.

i'm going with the heart.

Odds makers had Texas as a dog to TCU and USC.  Go with your heart or gut on this one, not Vegas.
Oh I did I have Texas +7.5 lol. Still hoping we win outright. But the realist in me can’t help but temper my expectations.

35-34 Texas.  Shootout galore no doubt.  Defense needs to come ready to play and Boyd better have his eyes right.

We can if and but all day. I could retort with "we might break him in half" or he could get stuck to the bottom of someone's cleat.

I think his most impressive attribute Saturday will be how far he flies after the hit.

@longhorn_mig Is this beverage available in the DFW area?  More specifically Frisco, TX?
Hmmm, I'm not sure. I want to say I've found it up there before. It's from Independence Brewing and basically Austin Amber re-canned for this time of year. If I find it in DFW, I'll let you know.

38-14 OU

Our offense looked anemic against K St. If we can’t keep our offense on the field our D will wear out. Herman beat two ranked opponents at home and won a game on the road but he hasn’t proved he can lead us to a victory over OU at the Cotton Bowl.
He said they went too conservative too early preserving the lead.  I’m thinking he realized 19 isn’t enough.  I expect a better offensive output. Ou still has Stoops calling their D so I see our offense getting in gear.  The RBs have a good day and Sam chips in the ground game and Texas goes for 200 on the ground and wins TOP.

Texas 34-30

This all is going to come down to our weakest link holding up... our pass rush. Our run d is impressive and our pass defense is pretty good when we are not making bone headed decisions.

K Boyd better be ready because the whole stadium knows that they will be targeting him first.

Big game for sterns coming up.

I don't think our pass rush has been that bad. It's not as good as we were expecting so far, but I think it's been decent enough (I'd be interested in seeing some stats).  Main point is if that's our weak link we're doing okay. Losing Roach didn't help of course.

Totally agree about Boyd. As he goes the game may go.

Boyd scares me.

IMO..Texas has beaten the sooners physically the last 3-4 yrs...the final score has been in their favor due to critical mistakes made by the horns. If Texas can minimize or eliminate those mistakes it will be a great day to be a horn fan on sat. Texas 34 -31 Hook'em

Good thinking. Reading it, occurred to me that when we see the outcome of other games by an upcoming opponent, we (home/fan) viewers cannot tell how physical the other teams were playing. Meaning, I have no idea how physical the play was, man-to-man, for all 60 minutes on each player an OU player faced throughout the game.

My observation so far this year, is that the program is developing into a physical brand of football -- to go with better and better fundamentals at all positions, to include the defense actually getting INTs instead of almost. If Sam can keep the ball in play where he is most accurate; we may be okay.

Oh, left out. The team has 17 straight games of opposition under 200 yards rushing, and our running game has stepped up compared to past four seasons. Seems to be.

OU Sucks!

TEXAS!!!...FIGHT!!!

TEXAS!!!...FIGHT!!!

Some memories fade at my age, but the deafening sound of that chant in the Cotton Bowl still sends an electric current through my body.

Bring it on!
