A little lopsided for Manziel...Unless you are taking Clowney...But considering the holes on that team, its going to be interesting
Good move by the Texans dropping back and getting an additional 2nd round pick.
LOL, JFF will not have a place on my team ;-)

I guess I'll take the Saints, hopefully my draft class won't toke it up as much as the Louisianimals at A&M.

Pretty big trade just went down that will change the landscape of both conferences for the upcoming years.

The San Francisco 49ers and Colts have just completed a trade.

49ers get:

Andrew Luck, Trent Richardson, and Darius Heyward-Bey

Colts get:

Colin Kaepernick, Michael Crabtree, Joe Staley, Marcus Lattimore, the 49ers 2014 first round pick, 49ers 2015 first round pick, and the 49ers 2015 fourth round pick.

This gives the 49ers arguably the top young qb in the game today while giving the Colts a solid foundation that will sure up the oline and wr core and a number of picks while having one of the top young qb's in the league today.

Luck will reunite with Jim Harbaugh where he flourished while at Stanford and gives Trent Richardson his 3rd team in 3 seasons.

Lattimore hopes to return from the leg injury he suffered while at South Carolina and provide a stable rb that the Colts have been looking for since Edgerrin James left after the 2005 season.

And the 49ers are loaded with 12 draft picks in 2014. Now, 11 picks after the trade.

Good Lord. I still feel like the Colt's just raked on that one. 49ers management better pony up Harbaugh's raise before he leaves town now.

I'm not too worried. 49ers are a elite QB away from SB trophy. Kaepernick makes too many bonehead plays, especially during crunch time. 49ers played without Crabtree 2/3 of games this year and was fine. He also had an injury prone career. We have a solid OL. Can draft another to replace. We are stacked at RB. Hunter/James/Richardson as 2nd string tailback by committee. And we're essentially giving up the 30th pick this year and the 32nd pick next year. We're also loaded with draft picks this year. I still have 2 second round draft picks and 2 third round draft picks for our Draft Game.

Why so soon/early? With a full 2 months until the draft, you could stir up more interest and possibly eliminate the need of GM's having to draft for multiple teams. Plus GM's get the advantage of seeing how prospects do at their pro day.

Maybe part of the attraction of doing it next week is the lack of info (making it more like an early mock draft)? Seems like it would be easier to judge/vote for a winner if everyone knew more about the prospects.

I'm not trying to de-rail this party. I think this is a great idea! Just trying to understand what's going on...

Ask Bevo Blake. I couldn't do it in May as I am traveling for a full month. I think sooner the better because of the boring dead period. I want to have a HS Fantasy baseball league.

My question is why take on Richardson and DHB at all? Why not a hold on a straight swap for Luck = Kap + picks? Richardson has proven that he is mediocre at best, you would have been better off rolling the dice with Lattimore this year now that he's healed plus Lattimore has more time left on his rookie contract. DHB vs Crabtree? Give me Crabtree all day and it's not even close. Think of what Luck could do with a chain mover like him. A healthy Crabtree also allows you to let Boldin walk sooner rather than later.

I can't argue with your logic on the rest of it though, it's very sound thinking.

I didn't want to give up Crabtree, but Luck is a once in a lifetime QB since Elway. Also the 49ers have cap problem in 2015 as Crabtree and Kaepernick are at the end of their 1st contracts. I agree that Richardson was dead weight but let him compete on the roster, who knows, better coaching and scenery could help. I'm pretty confident in our depth and loaded picks this year. I had to give up a lot to get Luck, but I think our roster will be fine. Andrew Luck has done so much with so little offensive weapons with the Colts. Luck with the 49ers run game, will open up much of the passing game. Plus Luck has deceptive speed.

Super Bowl against Ravens: Kaepernick threw a bad INT at end of game.

Conference championship against Ravens: 3 consecutive INTS 2nd half of game.

Luck is Mr. Comeback.

I think it was a good trade for both parties. I hated giving up luck, but it's about winning the game and the Colts are more than just one or two solid players away. With this years deep draft, it gets me back into the first round to address issues on the defensive front. It gives me Joe Staley who is a three time All-Pro tackle and Crabtree will let T.Y. and Brazil play the secondary pass catchers (where I feel they are more dangerous). With the young tight ends on the team (Fleener and Allen who is recovering from an injury). Lattimore is the key to blowing this trade out of the water. If he can return to full form he will be a steal, but that is the question, will he return to full strength? We, as an organization, are confident in his abilities and his essential redshirt year last year only helped the situation out.

Luck will do many great things, just at this time, it was the right decision to move forward. We look forward to seeing him next year in Arizona.
