Henry Melton is a Cowboy!!

Almost the same product, but without the Ware contract.

Melton gets a paycheck and a year to prove he's undamaged goods (knee surgery). That's a win for him. If he stays longer, he loses on this deal. The Cowboys are like a jail sentence right now.

Dallas is sitting in about the same position they were in the early 2000s when the wheels fell off. The same will likely happen again. At some point Jones has to fire himself. It's just not getting done.

Tell me about it. I started watching the Cowboys about the time they lost Super Bowl 5 to Baltimore. I was a young child then. I stopped watching the Cowboys (and the NFL in general) when he hired that a-hole Barry Switzer. It's been Jerry's organization ever since, and the .500 record that has been posted over the last dozen or so years tells you exactly what kind of NFL mind Jerry Jones has: utterly mediocre. Why anybody would continue to support that organization with either their dollars of their emotional investment is beyond my ability to understand.

I am a Cowboy fan through and through. I am excited about Melton signing with them. I agree Jones is a cancer and should be cut out, but my loyalty will not waver. I was there in 89 when we won just one game I will be there till the end.

In case you have not seen this already ......

Texas-native Henry Melton is continuing his visit with Cowboys officials, a process which generally includes dinner with team officials.

But it was a previous quick bite outside Dallas that has Melton in the middle of another bit of business that could deal with large sums of money.

According to WFAA, Melton is being sued for “a sum greater than $1 million,†for biting a bar owner in the back while in the process of being thrown out of the bar.

Melton was arrested for public intoxication and assault on Dec. 23, 2013, for an incident that included charges that he bit bar owner Donald Payne, who owns the sports bar Chill in nearby Grapevine, where Melton lives.

Surveillance video shows a person being asked to leave, which led to a fight. The lawyer representing the bar owner said it escalated quickly.

You gotta root for someone. The trick is not to get too emotional. Accept 8 - 8, and that Tony can find some way to lose a game.

The game has passed by Jerry, as it has with a lot of folks in NFL/college football. He just won't accept it.

What a joke...$1M for a mere flesh wound.
"Great to see him back home!!"

I see what you did there.

And another in an ever growing list of crapily written headlines "Henry Melton being sued for biting bar owner in kidney."

Sir, would you like some fava beans and a nice Chianti with that?

AH! Thank you kind Sir. But, if you don't mind, I would prefer a different wine. Perhaps something flinty yet not gravelly.

I was an instant fan of the Cowboys in their first year with all 5'-7" 168 pounds of Eddie LeBaron at quarterback. Through the years, Bob Lilly was a legend, Bob Hayes was a streaking blur that had a hard time hanging on to the football and, Tom Landry ... well he was simply GOD! They lost me when Jerrah took over. I stayed with them for a few years, but the stench began to stink a bit too much. Jerrah should stick to "socks and jocks" and leave the football to somebody who know what they are doing. Too bad that pro sports team owners answer only to themselves ... and well. I guess to the folks that buy tickets and merchandise. So, really I guess it is too bad that so many people are gullible enough to continue buying said tickets and merchandise. I can just imagine Jerrah at the end of each game ... the spotlight baths him in light, he points off to the side, and summoning up his greatest P T Barnum impersonation, he says, "Ladies and Gentleman! Girls and Boys! This way to the Great Egress! And what a bargain it is! Only $10.00 per person!". Nothing wrong with making a profit in my book, but Jerrah should try to put a competitive product on the field while he is at it.

Well, no, I don't have to root for someone. When I quit on Jerry Jones, I quit on the NFL. I can't remember the last time I watched more than a couple of minutes of any regular season game.
