Smart move by Heard. I only wish Kai would "get it" as well and make the move. I really like what I have seen from Heard in the open field. His problem was always dealing with the QB style decision making in the backfield and hampered him many times last year. I think this frees him up to do what he does best.

Our receiving corps have the potential to be the scariest group to face in the nation before it is all done.

Brilliant move by Heard, he saw the writing on the wall.  This kid is electric in space and will be awesome out of the slot.  I also look forward to seeing what they do with him out of the reverse/double reverse situations.  He's too talented and elusive to be riding the pine!  The staff didn't make this decision, the player did...

I suppose its easy to draw a comparison to John Chiles.  My hope for Heard is that he ends up with a career similar to Chiles, who is still playing football in Canada.

Charlie should announce Shane Beuchele as starter for ND. then 1st series have Swoopes run 18 wheeler package with Jerrod Heard at slot WR, Collin Johnson, John Burt at WR both outside, Caleb Blueitt at TE, D`Onta Foreman RB . Very easy game plan to remember the o-line knows 100% all run plays allows freedom to block past LOS. let ND`s defense who has game planned to stop Beuchele & passing game instead  chase Heard around then have to tackle Foreman and Swoopes start the body blows early 

1st play jet sweep to Jerrod Heard run this play again until ND stops it.

2nd play fake jet sweep to Heard run power with Foreman run this play again until ND stops it

3rd play fake jet sweep run Swoopes on QB power play 

4th play punt and play defense

After 1st series give ball to Beuchele let him run offense.

I think its smoke and bs. Outside of OB, everyone else saying Buechele is ahead and getting more first team reps. Us fans will go crazy if Swoopes is named the starter.
