Cancelled 247 back in August....it was just so obvious everything written over there had Bellmont's stamp on it. That was nauseating. I've been on Orangebloods since the beginning and while the staff's content has never really been compelling....the message boards were just too lively to walk away from previously. Today, I'm right on the razor's edge of cancelling. I've already scaled back posting over there as its difficult to have any kind of intelligent dialogue on that site. My primary sites at this point are Hornsports and IT. I really support McPhaul's vision for this site. He's got a good handle on the right culture for attracting and retaining quality posters.

I walked away from OB a few months ago. The Trayvon thread and the endless flaming did me in. Luckily, I had just found Tx Renegades and got here through D. McP. I am a bit of a recruiting Junkie and have a few ties to old coaches. I hope we get a good dose of recruiting news here. Might join IT for that fix...

It will be a while for the recruiting, but it will come with time.

Eric does good work over at IT.

And feel free to post your high school tidbits (or more) here. That's what this site is about, giving the fans a voice.

My old handle was TD96 but after that MTD character surfaced I changed it.

I have have enjoyed OB for so long but man its just gotten brutal over there at times.

i have been on OB for about 10 years and still enjoy it. It has gotten a little too big, but I really enjoy a lot of the conversations that you just don't get at the other sites. I also like the way Chip and Such handle things as well.
I have tried and enjoy other sites, especially this one so far. Honestly, while I like IT and some of the information I see too much whining over there as well and since I am not as invested in it, in regards to friends, it really does not do much for me. It is kind of funny/sad that they actually seem to take a ton of jabs at Ketch and OB only to get upset when they feel slighted. Some people just take this stuff too serious.

Ironically there is a lot of cross-posting that goes on across all the sites, but especially IT and OB.

So long story short, I have no reason to leave OB. Between OB and now here I am really content and if I had to choose just two they would be the ones. Add in the other sites like IT, with their sources, and you get pretty great coverage from a lot of different perspectives.

These team sites, and the recruiting news, have gotten so big over the past ten years. It is no longer about breaking the news, IMO, it is about the way you deliver it and the community you build.

I signed up for IT and honestly I'm there most of the time now. Once they get a mobile site it's on.

I'm sincerely hoping that's part of their upcoming site update...

I consider Jason a friend and I really respect Dustin's baseball coverage and knowledge. I've been there since damn near the beginning, back to TheUniversity.com/Austin360 days. I have a lot of friends that I have met there and that site alone was my ONLY link to Texas Football for a long time when I moved to Washington. I am not the biggest GK fan, but for the reasons previously stated, I will be sticking around there.

That said, I have been spending a lot of time on here, but I think that most of y'all hit Luby's for the LuAnne Platter at 4:30 and are in bed after the 6 o'clock news.

I was pissed when that pathetic MTD character ruined your handle. That guy is a great example of exactly the type of poster (even if he was a troll joke) this site needs to avoid at all costs.

I've been with OB since the Austin 360/TheUniversity.com days as well. OB has been a good site over the years and I hope the mods crack down on all the trash threads. I love this site, but will stay with OB as well.

I am considering it, but I would miss it. Ketch has gotten too full of himself and forgot it's the members that make that site and not the mods. He also flew his liberal flag around a bit too much. It's still a great site because it has a lot of great posters(fewer than there used to be). Ketch and the other mods are great at what they do and seem to put in a lot of work. With Hornsports emerging, I'm not sure if I'd miss OB enough to give them$100 per year.

No issues with you at all. As I've said in the past, you never crossed a line with me. And I don't hold grudges anyway.

I will admit to trying to change some of the bad attitudes (not you) over there at one time, and all it did was clutter the board. It wasn't my intentions. I can see how it came across the wrong way and I do regret that. Most of the times that I got myself in a back and forth over there, I was simply trying to mirror a bad poster and see if he could figure out how stupid it looks. But in the end it just was a stupid idea on my end.

Long time reader of the sticky threads, short time poster on the message boards. It took some time to digest it all.

It is a little bit of a culture shock to see the disrespect over there. It's all good now. Live and learn.

I tried to quit after Ketch was pretty rude to me after I replied to his Trayvon post, but he emailed me and comped me a couple of months. I really like McComas' coverage of ball and baseball. I'm with Joeywa that Ketch isn't my favorite part of the site, but I'd miss it. That said, depending on this site and how search pans out, I could see myself here and IT only. Maybe. Getting a lot of riff-raff over there.
