Cpl. Harlon Block was actually raised in Weslaco! He played for the Panthers and I believe that team was undefeated and not scored upon before he and some of his teammates went to go sign up. Our Weslaco History Museum is essentially dedicated to him.

Actually, that is not a replica. It is the original, which the Commandant of the Marine Corps deemed to be too small for Arlington. That kind of follows the same storyline of the Iwo Jima flags themselves. At least that's what the retired Gunny at Arlington told me.
