Man oh man. Texas is a young team on the road and it is showing.

Offensively, Cal cannot stop the run. Allowing Swoopes to throw the ball worked once, but not twice. Intercepion. D'onta Foreman is averaging over 7 yards per carry.

I don't know who is calling defensive plays, but they are not making the necessary adjustments. Sheroid Evans and Davante Davis are getting burned out there. Badly. And it doesn't help when you continuously play zone or man. In the zone, safety's don't know when they are supposed to pick someone up. In man, well... we know how that went. Texas is getting hardly any pressure up front. When they do, it's usually blitzes, which have resulted in WR screens for big gains. I previously mentioned this defense needed to stop the screens. They have not done that. One one drive at the goal line, Tim Cole and John Bonney were in the game. Why? The starters played for 3 snaps, and then basically the second team defense was in the game in a goal-line situatation.

Brandon Jones is a stud. That kid needs some play at safety in the 2-deep. What could it hurt? Dylan Haines and Jason Hall are not athletic. If they picked up when they needed to cover, they probably don't have enough athleticism to make it there anyways.

Sterlin Gilbert, run the ball my man. I don't necessarily disagree with the call at the end of the half to take a shot deep, but you have a freshman quarterback. He will make mistakes. And so, he made a costly one. Run the ball in the second half and make the proper adjustments on defense.

This game is not over. Texas just needs to step up and make adjustments on defense. No more turnovers. Cal has scored 14 points off of them. Here we go.
