We are now into Thursday since it was announced that Mack was going to step down and the ensuing media firestorm. We still have not heard anything from Saban or Alabama regarding being close to an extension. Their AD has had a couple of chances to talk about it and still nothing.

Trust in the guys we have here. McPhaul, shaunsters, Baghorn, Skolodn, Sirhornsalot and RoyalCrown are not leading us astray. These guys were right about Dodds and they were right about Mack. We just have to be patient and let things play out. There's no reason in getting worked up right now.

#Saban2014 fellas.

And now EM... :D

I believe that Saban is coming and Mack will step down........being patient is not what a lot of us folks have.

I can no longer trust. I need tangible proof or every one is a liar, has a hidden agenda or is trying to mislead me.

My guess is that Mack didn't want his resignation to detract from the Football Banquet. He wants the focus on the players and their 2013 season rather than himself. That is both admirable and classy, in my opinion.

I expect things will shake out early next week. Keep the faith and Hook 'Em!

JB I agree. I also think Mack wanted to be the one to control the narrative. He never expected someone or multiple people to leak the story to Chip and then it gain the legs that it did from there. It's one thing for Jesus and Hornsports to report that Mack isn't going to be back, but it's a completely different animal for Chip to do the same. When that happened the entire narrative changed.

In the end, Mack will not be back. And Saban will be our next head coach. Obviously we all want it to happen yesterday, but is there much of a difference between it happening today or Monday or Tuesday?

Patience is a virtue I was not granted. :(

Thanks to you guys for keeping us up to speed as this unfolds. I'm grateful for this incredible site! Keep up the good work fellas. Hook'em!

Here's a crazy thought. Mack is "recruiting" to keep the class together for the new coach. Who it will be announced on Sunday is Nicholas Lou "Nick" Saban.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Mack will go out a winner and ride off into the sunset as a hero, we get Saban, our class remains intact (with probably some awesome additions to boot). Win win win.

I can dream, can't I?

I have passed the class. After rereading many old posts and reading a few new posts I am now comfortable this is playing out just as it should. A few twists and turns aside Texas Football will come out of this on the other side a winner. Hookem

I think Mack wanted to write his own ending. Don't we all? After his meeting with Patterson on Sunday, he should have acted with haste in making his exit to stay ahead of this ravenous media, both social and traditional. I think some of the BMDs got sntsy with that extension dropped on Saban's desk last Friday and leaked the news to Chip to run with All while Mack dragged it out and, as a result, has nothing to do but lament that he has lost control of the story. Much like many a football game this season, Mack has lost control of the outcome. And as much as I appreciate what he did for the progra, for the majority of the time he was here through his recruiting and his being the face of the program, I can no longer tolerate his losing control of something that should not have been an issue had it been addressed properly from the get go. Had he been thinking of the players, once again, he would have prepared better.

J.B., this isn't directed at you. I'm just venting and needed to quote something. Hook em!

Meeting is on Friday. The roadmap has been provided. All is proceeding as it should. The end is near.

Mack is doing what's best for Mack. It's about him.

Saturday sounds plausible because it will take the thunder from the Heisman and put it on him.
