Disappointed as I am.... I realize rebuilding Texas is not a one year project. Shown a ton of improvement this year, but must improve team speed on both sides of the ball to get back to national prominence. TCU is a good football team and certainly a much more complete than we are. We are a solid defensive team and need upgrades on the offensive side of the ball.(I don't believe TS is the answer, but I've been wrong before). We need to win the bowl game, have a great recruiting season, and stay the course with Coach Strong..... I do believe he is the answer.

Are these guys busy?

I believe it's Heard...... Needed a year of getting stronger and learning the speed of the game...... Did I remember Heard being a 4.4 type speed.....

Speed is nice and all but Heard has to be able to read a D and throw a more accurate pass than Tyrone today. If he can't then we have a problem. Nice that he got the redshirt but I would have burned the shirt after Bu.

I believe they took a year to teach Heard..... They know he's the real deal..... I believe it's easier to teach a guy to throw and read defenses than it is to teach a guy to run a 4.3(if that's what it is)..... The high school game is a long way from Big 12 football..... That's why they took this year... At least that what I hope it is....

Look, if we're depending on some JUCO guy to come in and save us.....we're screwed.

I doubt Hubenak is the next Cam Newton. Hell, walk-on and current 2nd teamer Vinklarek came from Blinn this past spring.  It's gotta be Heard next year.

I hope Heard has gotten quality practice reps against our 1st Team defense.

I don't believe that Heard is light years away. Heard was as close to a can't miss prospect as I have seen in a long time. He will be special, and Texas will be a much better team next season. Zero doubt there.

You guys just are not listening.

What were they saying about Dak Prescott, Vince Young and many other QB's that were forced into action before they were ready just like Swoopes.

Brown did Swoopes a disservice by burning his redshirt year.  Just like Gilbert & Ash.

I will take $100 bet right now that Swoopes beats Heard out next year.

Heard was so far behind Swoopes this year is was not even funny.

I talk with someone that runs football operations and they tell me that Heards competition is going to be Gentry, not Swoopes.

Unless Texas brings in a Juco or transfer, Swoopes is going to start at Texas next year.

If that is true, we are screwed.

So Swoopes is the next VY and Prescott?

Ill bet $100 on that.  6 TO's in his last game after 11 games.  7.2 QBR vs Baylor.  19.2 QBR vs TCU.  Somehow I doubt it.  So many issues with this kids development as a total RAW prospect.  If Watson can make Swoopes into a glimmer of VY then we should rename DKR to Watson's miracle.

You may be right cause if Heard cant beat out what we saw Thursday vs TCU then umm thats just sad.

So many came away with the same perception after the game.  Strong comments about recruiting and bringing in more competition wasn't exactly a singing endorsement for the future of Swoopes at QB.

As a stock trader we are taught to leave hope at the door and focus on probabilities.

I agree Brown didn't help Swoops out by burning his RS last year but his lack of consistency this year is troubling. When he has been at his best he has been good - very good but when he has not been at his best he has been very bad - terrable.

He has to make huge strides in the off season for this team to be any better next year with him at the controls.
