I would like to stay logged in like other sites let me. I have to login everytime I try to check the board. Mobile app is fine, it works great. But in a browser I have to login every time, its kinda annoying.
You may want to check your browser settings. It's probably set to clear the cache often. What browser do you use? I don't have that issue at all and I use Chrome desktop and mobile.

I would like to see more posts per page view or have an option to increase.
Go to Settings from the top

The General Settings under "My Account" on the left.

Then under Thread Display Options use the drop down for "Number of Posts to Show Per Page" to change.

Are you checking the "Remember Me" box on the login page?

If you are checking that box and it still doesn't remember you then you are likely doing something to clear your cookies.

For now, if you type the first few letters and then click on the history in the drop down window, I'm able to stay logged on that way for the simple reason it is uploading and refreshing my last visit. I know that's not perfect, but it's working for me as a temporary fix.

Thanks for all the hard work guys! Love the site and was jonesing while it was down.

Where is the like button the past 24 h? Are we rationing likes as Shaggy does rep now?

Can I just go ahead and blame jpj for stealing all my "likes" from my profile?

-Gifs/pics/vids option on mobile view.

-full site vs. mobile view option

-"like" option on mobile view

-on mobile view, it would be nice to see author of each thread

-as mentioned, a link back to the BOB as frequently as possible (maybe below every comment). What is convenient about this is that, unlike pressing back on the browser, by clicking the link back to the BOB, it refreshes the page (I know you know this but that's what we want!)

Y'all are doing a fabulous job. It's also cool to see LH and HE being utilized for their expertise!

One thing I think another site has that is advantageous to them is the longer page format which would allow for a longer listing of threads on Page 1 of the forum.

So instead of say 25 threads on the first page, there would be like 40-45 (have no idea of those are accurate numbers, just using as example).

I think I'm an average user. I will freely admit I hardly ever go to the secondary pages of the forum. So threads would remain active, longer, and by consequence be more interesting if they were allowed more time to reside on Page 1. It helps keep conversations going.

Otherwise, IMO, this site carries a ton of features that are just cool. The "like" button hopefully comes back as I think that's a cool feature when you like something, but don't necessarily have anything to say other than that. This isn't a technical thing, but I think we have an excellent set of mods here, very active with the members, moreso than other sites.

We will get this locked down and better protected for the future. It really is amazing just how many attacks there are a day. I have done some work in past jobs in "organizations" whose whole purpose is t0 counter the attacks. It is down right crazy how resilient some of the attacks are.

So HornEsch, it's obvious you are tech savvy. These attacks are all coming from the Chinese, yes? Why is that? And if we're not doing the same to them, why aren't we?

I mean what's their purpose. It seems they are systematically testing defenses. The intent, it would seem, would be some sort of taking down of the US internet in some way, in the long term. In the short term, it just looks like harassment. But it grows and becomes more sophisticated. We're in a digital war and I hope we're firing as many as we're taking.

I'll hang up and listen.

There are several reasons.

1. To get onto servers and put malware/viruses on the site for you to get on your computer.

2. Create a bot-net to attack larger systems like banking and government and continue to grow. Basically create a slave army. Many of the systems attacking are ones that were attacked previously. The more they control the more powerful they are to go after say, the power grid.

3. Farm personal information, passwords, and if possible credit cards. For many people getting the email address and password is the key to banking I information and/or access to other sites since many use the same email / password combination in multiple places (which is a no no)

4. Then you do have those are just being asses. Most of those are locals though.

All correct! Some do it for a greater purpose while others are just doing it for fun.

Thanks for the thorough answer. I'm going to take your advice on item 2, the pw thing.

Has anyone noticed the calendar on the server is set a day ahead? Look at the home page. All the threads say they were started tomorrow (Dec 20).
