Garrett Gilbert has shoulder surgery...Out for the season

I guess this is the first step in his departure plan. Take the rest of this season to heal, sit out next year somewhere else and comeback to have a good season. However who do you think would take the kid? He might have to step down a level.

I honestly think GG is good enough to play QB at a big school. He had a lot of potential. I think the pressure to follow in Colt's footsteps really set him back last year and he was just never able to recover once things started going downhill. Give him a couple years to move, learn a system and clear his head and I think we might see GG do some great things for a school elsewhere.

He is still a Longhorn and he gets props from me for that! I think he has potential and perhaps a backup role is good for him - less pressure. Watch us need him later in the season.... Hope not!
