The #1 Texas Longhorns (6-0) will host #5 Georgia (5-1) at DK on Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m.
Vegas says Texas is a 2.5 pt favorite as the week begins.

TV: ABC, ESPN+
ESPN Matchup Predictor – Texas 76.5%, Georgia 23.5%
Weather – Accuweather says game time temperature will be 79 degrees.
ESPN's College GameDay crew will be in town for this one.

Texas will host no less than 35 recruits who are either 5-star or 4-star for this game.

This is the game that Texas and Texas fans have had circled on the schedule for quite some time. Georgia spent the early season ranked #1 and fell from that rankoing with their loss to Alabama.

Georgia will by far be the best team Texas has faced this season. Their offense is seasoned though they miss the weapons they had last year.

Georgia has its back against the wall in this one. If they lose a second game, it will be tough for them to get to the playoff. They would have to be perfect from here out. We all know about Georgia's off the field problems and can see that it has started taking its toll. But they are still a very explosive team.

In analyzing their wins, you see what appears to be a less than powerful team. They squeeked by Kentucky 18-12. They beat Auburn by 31-13 at home. And they allowed Miss. State to score 31 points in their 41-31 win this week. So we're seeing some cracks there.

Texas is relatively healthy coming into this one. We're still waiting to hear how serious Safety Derek Williams' injury is.

QB Quinn Ewers was very rusty for the OU game but seemed to work himself out of the slump as the game proceeded. Thats good news. Hopefully Ewers will ccntinue to be a great QB in big games as he has so far in his career.

While Tre Wisner looked awesome against OU, he will have some help in the Georgia game as Gibson should be fully back from being dinged up and Blue should be fully back by then.

IMO, this one ccmes down to who wins the trenches and who has the turnovers.

If Texas plays clean game, especially Quinn, we win. It will really be out first test. Don't consider OU this year. Sark can't be stubborn if Quinn looks like he started in OU game.

Be careful people will call you Johnny if you state anything negative about QE3.

I don't think you can pull Ewers if he starts slow again. He has to work through it. That's part of QB development. You have to be given the opportunity to work through slow starts and learn. If you pull Ewers because of a slow start, then your saying Manning is your starter from here on out.

Sark is known as a QB developer. He develops QBs for the NFL. He knows what's best for the QBs and the future. I trust him. I may not always agree with him, but he knows a hell of a lot more than I do about QBs.

Supposedly, more than forty 4 & 5* recruits will be at the UT-UGA game his weekend.

From Chronicle:

While Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has enough to worry about with No. 5 Georgia visiting Saturday, his program has a chance to make an impression on some of the nation’s top high school players during what will be a key recruiting weekend.
According to several recruiting sites, more than 40 four- and five-star recruits from the 2025, 2026 and 2027 classes will be invading the 40 Acres for one of the biggest SEC matchups of the season as the No. 1 Longhorns try to remain undefeated.

Edited to add: Just saw more details in the recruiting thread.

As Sark likes to say, " This is why we came to Texas".
You play for NC's you take everything else that comes with it. And Texas is playing for a NC.
