*****GAME THREAD: No. 21 Texas versus Kentucky*****

Gritty win by the team.

We are so bad on offense. Defense is elite. Special teams solid.

I’m losing confidence that Arch will be a good or even decent QB. He’s a good dude and I love that he loved Texas but he hasn’t improved much. Yes against OU he moved around the pocket better but he badly regressed again. There were zero moments of that wow factor. There have been very few compared to our other good to elite Texas QBs when they are in their early playing years.

Oh well. They aren’t benching him.

Take the W and defer losing a game in the future. Vandy gonna own us. Arkansas may too. Aggie and Georgia are guaranteed Ls as of now.

It seems like Sark doesn't trust Arch can do the job, so he plays it very conservative and hopes the D wins it. He had Ewers throwing it all over the place. Very safe passes, like that WR screen that never works because they aren't throwing it down the field.
11-27, 132 yards, wow!

Every QB, including Arch, needs an OL he can depend on to block most of the time. When you're getting pounded more often than not, it has a tendency to throw your game off. Hopefully the OL injuries are short lived.

Thanks to Stoops, Texas escaped. If UK kicks the FG, game is extended... there was no way Texas was going to score a TD. FG at best and we did our damnedest to try to move out of FG range at that. Pathetic.

I was just thinking the same thing. What did we have in the second half, two first downs? No way we score a TD as opposed to our D putting up a successful goal line stand.

Well I’d keep dialing up the pressure when the oline isn’t good AND the QB reliably misses short easy throws and short intermediate throws. It’s a mess. Hopefully it turns around but we are 7 games in…
