Game Thread: #12 Oklahoma State @ #25 Texas Longhorns

No, if we never had a lead it would be even worse. It's already apparent he's not a game manager, having to suffer through 2-3 more years is like water boarding the fans and alumni

I have already stated that Sark for better or worse will be our coach for the next 3-4 years so I am not calling for him to be fired.  I don't know if he is the right guy or not and no one does.  I only know that I gave Charlie Strong and Tom Herman the benefit of the doubt and that did not work out very well.

Sark should have time to get his feet underneath him but losing the way that we have the last two games does not instill confidence.  Excuse me if I am a little gun shy but after 10 years of this crap you become a cynic.

When is the last time that everyone on this board could agree on how elite we were as a football team or how great the entire coaching staff was?  What about being able to shove it in the face of the rest of college football because we were the force that had to be reckoned with?  That is how far we are and how far we have fallen.  The last two games are a microcosm of what we have been over the past decade.  I hope that Sark proves me wrong.  I will gladly eat crow.

Do players really need to hang out in the film room with HUDL being accessible everywhere? Unless, of course, Casey is dissecting film with Sark and/or Milwee. Just saying.
HUDL shows select highlights, usually in the player's favor. It is literally 1Kth of the total plays the kid has played.

With film, you get to see continuation of play, entire series, different situations and how they adapt/respond. Its a different world than HUDL. Otherwise, UT wouldn't bother with it.

exactly. there's a difference between published "film" (eg, HUDL) vs continuous play and coach's/team film. Coaches have access to continuous full-field and close up video at different angles.

You can sort game clips every way possible with HUDL. It's not just for sharing highlights on recruiting websites. Coaches are only limited by the number of camera angles they've got recorded digitally. When I was officiating TXHSFB, the larger, better-funded programs shared both sideline and end zone POVs.

But, I don't know what other digital software is being used these days by top programs.

I said at the time - it was obvious that Ash should be retained.  Sark, for whatever reason, disagreed.

I don’t pretend to know half as much about football as Sark.  But I think I had the right idea here.

This is a bye week, and this wound is much too fresh to just forget it. We need some more fuel on this dumpster fire.

Our own media is slamming us.

I knew I was pissed off for a good reason. We are now fodder for late night jokes.

Is this news to you? I mean, you're re-publishing stuff we saw days ago and knew by end of evening Saturday night.

Take a sledge hammer to a car or something. But don't litter the board.

In every game except Arkanssas ofence put up enough points to win. Defence justgave up enough to lose.

May be Ash should have been kept!

There is no such thing as enough points in the Big 12.

If your defense is suspect when kept on the field too long, keep you offense out there. If the O-line and receivers can't get it done, the deepest talent pool on the team is the running backs. Get those boys on the field in space and we win.

We have been losing too much for too long. While I like that these last 2 games were winnable, I won't get all hyped up until we start winning.

7-5 don't cut it. 9-3 don't cut it. At this point a New Year's Day bowl game would be a good start but that ain't happening any time soon.

Maybe Sark is the man to lead us out of this desert. Only time will tell.

You really need to take a break. Your act has gotten both old and tired.

Don't assume I'm an internet troll just because you disagree with me

I've disagreed with most of the posters on this board from time to time. We all have.

I think what we object to is that a new person comes on and harps on one thing over and over when it's obvious we have more problems than 1 player can fix. To say a good coach has become incompetent since coming to Texas is just making things worse for you.

To me, our last few coaches overestimated the players we had when they took over. Sark is at least trying to get the ball in the hands of our playmakers. Now it's up to him to fix what he sees as problems. It's not going to happen overnight or by switching to one player. I wish it were that simple.

I assume that you are an internet troll because you basically just keep saying the same thing over and over and over and over. And you do it often and in multiple threads. All you are doing is beating people over the head. Make your point and move on.
