Texas plays host to Texas State Tuesday at 6: p.m. at the Disch.

Texas State is 4-5 in Sun Belt Conference play. They are 12-15 on the season. They lost their last game to Coastal Carolina 10-3 on Sunday.

They've beaten Okie State and Illinois and also Texas A&M so far this year. So they're capable of playing good ball.

Should be a nice warm up game ahead of a weekend series with Georgia.

Texas and Texas State will play again on April 22 in San Marcos.

I have a good buddy who went to Texas State. The running joke is that Texas State always seems to have us on the ropes in this Tuesday games and then we pull out a late inning comeback. I hope it doesn't come to that this time around but if it does I'll be happy to text him about it.

Kade Bing with another Tuesday night start. Will be interesting how Schloss uses the bullpen tonight.

Top of the 3rd,
Leadoff walk, WP, sac. bunt, another walk. Sac. Fly strikeout
Texas State leads 1-0.
Heading to the bottom of the 3rd.

Be interesting to see what Schlossnagle does in the Outfield next couple weeks. With Beylue out, i thought he might go back to Easton Winfield. Kid had good power numbers last year, struggled so far this year. Would love to see some Jonah Williams as well.

The younger Duplantier just can’t hit, I would rather see Winfield in there.

Kade Bing gives Texas 6 innings with no hits. Will be interesting if he comes out for the top of the 7th or Schloss gets someone from the bullpen to start the 7th.

Bottom of the 7th. Texas scores on a balk with the bases loaded. Texas did have 2nd and 3rd with no outs, but Mendoza groundout to SS, runners hold, and strikeout of Flores then a walk of Galvan then a strikeout of Gasparino to end the inning.

I know they counted it as a hit, but those are plays a D1 player should make. Back to back errors just killed Texas.

Texas hasn’t been good offensively runners and second and third nobody out and don’t get a run in the 7th hurt as well

Texas loses 5-3.
Left 12 on base. To many strikeouts(12). 2 errors. Jason Flores gives up only 3 hits, which were the only hits for Texas State. But 4 unearned runs in the top of the 8th after Flores gets 2 outs.
J. Duplantier did get a RBI double in the bottom of the 9th to get Texas the 3rd run.
