Friday-Saturday

You do know the SB is in NY and a blizzard will be there. Defense and a kick ass running game will determine winner.

Manning plays in Denver. The 49ers are in San Francisco.

I am starting to get a feeling that Patterson has gone rogue on this. It will be Strong.. Just a hunch
With this supposedly being his career defining hire, I seriously doubt it's Strong or any of the lower-tiered candidates.

1) Saban

2) Fisher & Harbaugh

I'm not sure what to make of the Gruden interest. I know there is a real interest, I'm just not sure the terms are easily met with someone like Chucky. On one hand I think he would be a fantastic hire and on the other I worry about him being out of the game for so long, the type of staff he would put together, and the teams identity under Gruden. I have no doubts in his ability to be able to recruit. His name alone will send shockwaves through the recruiting landscape for a couple of years and possibly huge nationally. After that, like all other hires, his results will have to walk the talk. He could end up being in a group of NFL failures at the college level or he could end up being just like Pete Carrol. Same age and similar results as to when they both would have entered the college ranks except that Chucky has a ring.

I'm now thinking we're going to know something Friday, not Saturday. Friday.

Any elaboration as to why?
We won't have to wait any longer, IMO. And Patterson will be working on 1B Friday night if the answer is no. So partly due to confidence in Saban and partly due to confidence in Patterson. Yea, something I just heard.

Do you think Patterson will announce Friday? Or will we get word that he accepted through sources?

Someone just posted that JS said that no decision will come by Friday from Saban. Also that JS still feels good about Saban..

If Saban accepts, Patterson will not announce that soon. I get the feel Texas is tired of being the whipping boy of the national media. If Saban signs, I'd expect the announcment Monday.

You have the NFL on Saturday and Sunday so that limelight would be stolen. College Football is up to bat again on monday.

I thought it was no decision would come BEFORE Friday? Was it actually BY Friday?

I could see us knowing by Friday but not finding out until Sunday or Monday. Saban may want things to clear out a little before dropping that bomb. He would need cover from those fans who will freak out.

I've just had this feeling that if he accepts it would be announced on Monday about the time Auburn kicks off! Little upstaging going on!

Saban will be out of state before it gets out, if he signs. He's also schedule to be working media for the MNC is he not?

Before the 2014 National Championship Game kicks off from Pasadena on Jan. 6, Nick Saban and James Franklin, two of the SEC's premier coaches, will provide their analysis and insight into the game for ESPN.
