If Saban accepts, Patterson will not announce that soon. I get the feel Texas is tired of being the whipping boy of the national media. If Saban signs, I'd expect the announcment Monday.
You have the NFL on Saturday and Sunday so that limelight would be stolen. College Football is up to bat again on monday.

Should Saban accept, I wonder if Sexton would allow an official announcement the day of the National Championship Game. I would have to guess that the timing would allow Sexton's other 2 clients (Fisher and Malzahn) to have their moment of glory on Monday night. What better chance for a moment at glory than for Fisher to be playing for the Alabama job if Saban accepts Texas?

FSU is in a financial mess and can not go toe to toe on the $$ side of the contract offer. Aside from the "specials" in the contracts Alabama can go toe to toe with Texas on contract numbers. They got to play their hand first.

You are picking Harbaugh for your back up plan. I like him, but I am going with Strong.

I think if you look at this whole thing as if you were Patterson, your ideas sorta changes. If I were him, I would want a splash hire, if I could, but I would also want a coach that would have a chance to immediately start winning. Out of all of the candidates, who could do that? Including Saban I think there is only one man that would fill that bill and that would be Briles.

Naturally, this is only the opinion of one incredibly brilliant, sensitive, caring, insightful and rather handsome man - me.

Well, I have lost on the Briles prediction (dang it), SHL is still hanging in with the Saban prediction (he'll lose this as well) so we will be down to our secondary (and useless) predictions.
