OK, so which possible coaching candidate is going to be the talk of the day? Seems like there is a new favorite every day.

I have to admit, though, as crazy as it is, it is fun.

I don't believe for a second that Strong is the favorite despite the apparent interview yesterday and what other sites might be saying. Should he be interviewed?...absolutely. Would he be a vast improvement?...no doubt.

I have faith in Patterson to manage a search like this and do the due diligence required. Thus, he will vet all reasonable and qualified candidates that he and the committee have identified.

But, at the end of the day, this day specifically since that is what the OP asked, I still think its Saban 1a, Fisher/J Harbaugh 1b and Briles next although Briles might even have reached the 1b status as well. If we get none of these, then I think the hire will still be a good one, but not have the "big splash" effect we are hoping for and deserve. I realize this is nothing new are insightful...just think the "flavor of the day" in reality has not changed.

I think he'd be a very solid hire except for the pro-style offense. We have a huge number of spread HS qbs in Texas that are prime for a good recruiter. Get an OC that runs the spread and I think he'd do very well here.

The first time I have read someone trying to sell Strong. With the exception of the personal insults, it was a good post.
