FIRST CFP RANKINGS

The Longhorns CFP starts now, they can't afford any more losses after throwing away those two games. Texas and ND are in the same boat, win or stay home

Texas may have a chance if they have a close loss in Baton Rouge at night, but essentially you're right. The playoffs begin tomorrow in Columbia, Missouri.

This isn't the case. Texas is the only team in the nation with three top 10 wins.

Notre Dame played one ranked team (BYU) and lost. The rest of their schedule has been cupckaes. Miami is a must win for them.

This is why they are ranked well behind Texas in the CFP right now, despite only one loss.

Texas can and probably will get it in with three losses, if we have three losses. Notre Dame can't afford another loss.

But I agree, it would be advantageous for Texas to just win out.

How would you rank these.... Cousin Mike style? In other words, if they played on a neutral field.... I'll give it a shot without much study.

1. LSU
2. BAMA
3. Texas
4. Ole Miss
5. Missery
6. Tennessee

I'll go ahead and start with LSU, like you. But I'm not near as high on Bama. They don't have depth.

I guess I disagree. The only scenario I see Texas getting into the CFP with 3 losses is if they win out and then lose in the SEC Championship in a close game vs Georgia. If they lose to LSU or Missouri (or lets not forget A&M) they are in trouble. I think if any SEC team makes it through with 2 losses they are in, but 3 losses opens it up to comparisons with one/two loss teams from the Big 12 and Big 10. I mean what if Utah losses to BYU, that really muddies the water for a 3 loss SEC team. We need to beat LSU and MIzzu on the road, and be 5-1 against top 25 teams. Man, just give us back the OU game where we gave them 14 free pts, that was a killer.
