Final Two AD Candidates "Patterson vs Luck" Who's Your Choice.. Why?

STEVE PATTERSON, is my choice as AD as per the University of Texas!

...I for one, can fully comprehend just why the "Advisory Board" seems to be so very impressed as per his overall savvy / intellectual "stature" upon his interviews.

During one of the "Houston Rockets" playoffs series at what was then none as the "Summit" in Houston, I had the opportunity to witness Mr. Patterson deliver one of a multitude of media interviews. I am no one special... I was just passing by during all of the revelry. Nevertheless, I came away impressed by the way people stopped and listened to his every word. This gentleman has a commanding and yet calming presence. And you just get the sense and feel that he has a very "broad" administrative background.

sounds like a guy who can speak well. that is what we have had in brown. got the feeling dodds and brown are trying to control still.

Patterson is good, really good but Luck seems to be the guy.

I wish I knew more about both candidates, but simply can't form an opinion. It's funny, as most of us focus on who the next HC of the football program will be, the AD hire seems much more imporant to me as the athletic department as a whole is in decline. You hope this is a hire that will stay in place for the next 25 years, which means this AD will be here much longer than any coach, thus crucial to the long term health of the program.

Based on everything I've read both seem qualified and have the potential of doing a great job. I would tend to favor Luck if for no other reason he is more comfortable glad handing the BMD's and that can go a long way to increasing donations as we look to build a new basketball arena and and possible expand DKR.

I wish i knew more about both guys also.

I am a bit concerned with Luck in terms of his ties to Wv. There will come a time during his tenure that he needs to decide what is best for Texas. leave the Big12? Go Independent? go to another conference? or stay in the Big12 conference? My concern is will he care too much about what will happen to Wv?

He could still be the best guy for the job but i just have this concern. I think Luck will be the announcement next week after Wv game. Hopefully the people in charge have interviewed both candidates.

Either way, they have difficult talk ahead to clean our and rebuild Belmont.
