Favorite Local Bands

Throwing this out there to see if anyone has a particular favorite local band (recent or years past). When I was at UT my roomates and I religiously followed a band called Banana Blender Surprise. They played at the Black Cat Lounge on 6th every Tuesday and served free hot dogs and $1 Pabst Blue Ribbons, Pearl Lights and Mickey's Hand Grenades. They had a release party at Tower Records on The Drag back in the early 90's and I still listen to the music today. Check them out on Itunes. Fun stuff. Any favorite local music?

You guys know I'm from Mass.With that said,I really enjoy the music of 'the Black Angels'...Reminds me of The Doors.
