I haven't been this excited about recruiting in a long time. We now have a coach who is not afraid to go recruiting across America. I feel I am watching CS build a great and sound program at the University Of Texas. Finally we all know that Texas is a name everyone across America knows. But CS is taking us to a new level and going outside the borders of Texas and pulling in some great kids. Now the SEC schools know how it feels when we have to watch our great players Texas players win championship in the SEC. Thank you CS now lets win the Big 12 and a MNC and oh yea keep up the good work. Now some of you are not going to like what I said but don't jump on me all at the same time. I won't jump on you Jim, but I will jump and down with you in excitement about the recruiting CS and staff are doing.  Incredible momentum and key commitments and there are still about 30 days left. I think once it is all over the Horns will finish around #5 in the country with this 2015 class.  We will see.

But other than those two recruits, Strong and our recruiters were smartly able to spin that stinkpile of a game into a positive

Which is the way to do it -- "Hey, did you see all the opportunity for PT we have?"

It is pretty amazing how easily they were able to shrug off the outcome of that bowl, and get the recruits to shrug it off too

Maybe we can get Taylor Swift to do a 'Shrug It Off' song?

What the staff is doing is nothing short of amazing.  This team finished below .500 and has recruiting momentum.  Makes you wonder what this staff can accomplish in recruiting when the scoreboard on Saturdays start leaning towards the good guys.

Taking 5 for 5 of the FL kids in that photo is nothing short of AMAZING.  Those were all leans to somewhere else and CS not only flipped them but kept the competition from creeping back in.  The only thing I can think of from the UT past similar to this was that year Mack got those 4 kids from Texas City, but they were all from the same HS.

Coach is not done yet!

Doing great, but I'd still like to get a JUCO QB with playing experience. God help us if Swoopes even sees the field next season. You can't do enough to overcome his QB performance.

Strong is getting to replace about a third of the team with "his" players, which is awesome. Granted they will be young next year, but I am excited to see what these guys can do over the next few years. We got so used to the way Mack did it and I think some of us were nervous at first with Strong, because he has a different approach. However I think that most are now over being nervous

Based on the title of this thread, I wasn't quite sure what I was going to find when I opened it up

But I concur with what everyone is saying.

Two or three weeks ago, I made a comment in one of threads that I was sold on how good this staff could coach but was not sold how good they could recruit. The past several weeks have changed my mind and I now believe!

I wouldn't understand how any Texas fan could help but be excited by what's happened with our recruiting over the last couple weeks. It gives us hope that better times are ahead.

Does anyone remember the "whatever Charlie is selling, recruits ain't buying" comments? The arguments on the importance of stars? Not to mention the vocal smugness from aggy?

It is truly amazing to see how things have turned so dramatically. I feel like this might be a characteristic of Charlie Strong that will repeat itself on the field. Stay positive and patient; trust in his system, and then watch what happens when the floodgates finally open. It's coming.

It cannot be overstated the importance of the Florida commits and the impact they will have on this team. I have been dreaming of this scenario for 20 years. I remember the days when the kids like David Warren would bolt for a Florida school like FSU ad I wondered if we'd ever be able to do the same. There is just a different mentality with those south Florida players and we need that gritty attitude on this team. A combination of Texas and Florida top talent on one team is a dominant formula.

I agree with staying positive and patient, hopefully with Jerrod Heard if we give him the reigns this year and we stay positive and patient he will be a great QB for multiple years
