ESPN: Texas hire Tom Herman

Per HD

"source close to the situation said the 6-year deal starts at $5.35 million in Year 1 and graduates to $5.85 million in Year 6.

Hearing UH QB Kyle Allen could qualify as a grad transfer in December and would join Herman at Texas with 3 years of eligibility.

I'm told by a source Florida State TE coach and recruiting coordinator Tim Brewster, who recruited Vince Young to Texas on Mack Brown's staff, is likely to join Herman in Austin.

Brewster has been the lead guy recruiting 2017 studs Baron Browning and Jeffrey Okudah , among others.

I was told LSU's Ed Orgeron has expressed interest in Major Applewhite as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator.

Houston regents chair Tillman Fertitta confirming Tom Herman's departure."

Allen would have three years? I thought he would only have two. Embrey's opinion makes more sense now.

Applewhite should be the clear front runner for the UH job.
