Elijah Thomas and Myles Turner Update... BIG Update

Talked to someone very close to Elijah Thomas and he said Texas blew him away on the visit. Now granted this was a un-official but it was a big step on the right path to get a commitment from the 5 star PF. This person told me Texas still has its work cut out for them, but they are definitely in the top group now. This guy went on to say his feel is Ohio St. , Baylor, Oklahoma St. and SMU will also be in his top 5. When he releases that in the coming months. But Texas went from outside the top 5 to being most likely top 2. Big weekend for Texas. Barnes has to keep winning and keeping it fun. If this happens more and more recruits will come.

Myles Turner small update - Talked to my KU guy on Sunday. He asked me if I knew Turner was in town, I said I did. He said this recruitment is turning bad for Kansas. The rumors they're hearing is Texas has pulled in front is now considered behind the scenes the leader. Dont want to speak too soon, but this is looking really good for Texas. My Texas sources have been telling me for weeks, they feel really good. Been hesitant to post that info, but now my KU guy has basically said, its going to take a meltdown from Texas, to swing the momentum. Which in all reality could happen, but this team does not have quit in them. My buddy did say "however always watch WWW and SMU, they're known to get in on a recruit." That quote cam from the KU guy, he knows SMU is dirty.

Awesome, thanks for the update... The drum was great on saturday, and the team played very well for the most part. They outplayed st in the first half for sure!

Shaunsters - That's great news. How much of this has to do with the current players actually being happy to be here and the fact that they love playing together. It would seem to me that malcontents could sour a recruit very fast on a program.

Turner would have the same impact next year that TJ had in 2001. Turns a Top 20 type team into a legit Top 5 if everyone returns, which I can't see anyone on this team leaving early, though a guy like Walker might leave due to lack of PT.

Guys, for those of you who saw Payne tear us to shreds Saturday, he is the perfect player comp for Myles Turner. Myles is actually a tad taller and even more athletic. Obviously he isn't as good of a player. Yet.
