I don't cheer for Tiger. In fact, he's one of the only guys in sports I actively root against. My first reaction to the news was a big smile, but now that I've thought about it for a minute, I may actually miss him. It won't be the same not having him in the field to root against.
Now, if he was leading after the 2nd round - and all the "Tiger's Back!" posts showed up, I wouldn't be able to point out that he has gone something like 6 years that he has not won a major. Too bad.

Tiger not participating isn't as big a deal as in years past. I'd rather see him play, but the show goes on. He's gonna have a really hard time catching Jack @ 18 majors if his health doesn't improve.
