You are missing the point marathon....Mack is not getting fired...he's "retiring". The company line is its his choice...it's not but that's the perception we want out there. It works that much better if Mack beats Baylor and wins a piece or all of the Big 12. Then he goes out on top and nobody publicly questions if he was pushed out to make room for Saban...which matters to Saban.

but he's certainly changed after the "incident". Rather its actually because of that or just a coincidence...its hard to not notice. Maybe he's just reporting what he has been told and isn't actively part of some play, but I think whoever he talks to has a goal to put out some smoke and push an agenda of Mack will go out making this call himself, and that no BMD's, Powers, BOR's, etc are putting any pressure on which I just dont buy.

I dont think EM has anything to do with OB, but I do think he's being careful for some reason with what he posts, and the fact he's suddenly claiming things no one else has remotely heard like its all up to Mack and there is no pressure on him makes no logical sense in the face of such conflicting info by other respectable people with legit track records as well

Even if Mack came back is he going to hire a new staff? as a lame duck? who exactly would be left on campus? reports today have multiple on his staff heading for the exits sooner rather than later

The insiders at the time were getting a lot of attention and starting to take front and center. I don't think Ketch liked that at all and wanted Chip to remain as the single source of information on that site. I don't think they mind one bit McPhaul taking his info elswhere as well as El Mahico toning it down

and EM used to work for UT I believe in the training dept. He's good on recruiting tidbits, stuff going on currently on campus with the team, etc but something like this that requires one to look outside the bubble not so much.

I also agree Ketch and crew wanted to push the insiders down...the fact they havent cared most have left to go post elsewhere and rarely step in and moderate any of those threads when the clowns are beating the crap out of them in threads says it all

it was around the same time, but that was separate. (another strange deal to see a BOR actually post and then apologize)

Long story short Mahico claimed someone got into his rivals user info, and contacted his email address on file (that not many people had apparently) in regard to what was being posted and made some sort of threat to him. He was pretty worked up about it and initially claimed he would be treating this as a serious manner and seeking legal advice. it wasn't revealed exactly what was sent to him that I remember. Ketch etc claimed they would look into it as well. EM basically acted like he had traced the identity of this person and would expose them. That we would be shocked etc. Mahico posted he would be taking time away from the board because of what happened etc...but he kept coming back! Was so strange. I never heard what happened as the final result or if it just kinda went away. It was a huge deal on the board...threads were getting locked etc

Typical non issue blown up obloods. Things were blown way out of proportion. That's why I left obloods. Most posters on there now are not very good. Only a few guys I would listen to and their mostly gone.

Naw the Hicks deal was when Hicks (who has an account at OB and has occasionally posted) made a post where I've forgotten exactly what it said, but I believe it was in regard to rumors and inside info hurting negotiations etc

Hicks through Ketch later apologized for what went down and the fall out in that thread which had been removed apparently by the request of Hicks directly

Well McPhaul can certainly answer to that. I posted in that thread today over there directly to EM that his 180 is quite interesting and was done shortly after the Hicks email incident. To my knowledge he never came back to respond to it
