Dirk Nowitzki

[Aaron Carrara]

Dirk scored 14 points tonight in the Mavs' win over the Lakers, giving him 27,322 career points in the NBA, which is good enough for 8th all-time in the league.

As a Mavericks fan I am incredulous.  Seems like Dirk started in the league just yesterday.

Up next for Dirk is Moses Malone with 27,409 points at #7.

Only 87 points to match Malone...one more FT to pass him...Dirk can do that in one hot night!

Malone was a badass, though...The Postman always delivered!

APOLOGY: I got the Malones mixed up...Moses and Karl.  Both were tremendous NBA players,

though. Moses got an NBA Championship with the Sixers in 1983. Karl never got an NBA

Championship, though he and John Stockton were a tough combo. Sorry for sloppy

posting. Not my first time.

Pic from the game. It was good to see Dirk move up.
