Not a great result for rowing as they drop to 4th and Stanford jumps up to 1st. Both teams will lose some points in Men's Golf though I think the results will hurt Texas more than Stanford depending on how today goes. 

If Texas has the track results we expect they would still have a chance but it would require Stanford to get knocked out of baseball much earlier than predicted.

Yep, I wouldn't bet on it but it is definitely possible. More likely that Stanford gets upset early and Texas can just barely edge them out

Women's track is in a strong position to win. Men's doesn't have a chance unfortunately. Finishing in the top 10 would be good for them at this point and would help with the directors cup chances.

Stanford drops their game tonight and faces elimination tomorrow against Cal State Fullerton.

A loss in that game opens the door for Texas to creep back on top. If Texas were to pair that with a win, there is a bit of cushion for Texas to win the Director's Cup.

If Stanford wins their first game but drops the regional final to Texas A&M, they would secure 50 points which is what Texas has currently. If Texas were to advance to the supers, they would secure 64 points and it would be neck and neck for the Director's cup.

Stanford softball won against the Huskies which added another 5 points to their score. The two upset wins they have secured at the WCWS have added 10 unexpected points to their total (to go along with an extra 9 by winning their Super Regional).

Baseball also got the win over cal state fullerton to increase their points from 37.5 to 50. Had they lost, Texas would have likely had the directors cup in the bag.

As it stands, Stanford baseball is holding off elimination up big on A&M.

Men's track had the expected day at NCAAs today.

The main places to score points are 2 runners in 800m and the decathalon. Leo Neugebaur is in 1st place in the decathalon but probably gets passed as expected on Saturday to 1 seed from Georgia. He is in good position to get 2nd.

Both 800 m runners advanced to the finals and we have a chance to finish two runners in the top 5.

Downside, Stanford had a pretty good race in the 10k and finished 1st and 2nd. Both runners were ranked high but not that high coming in and it definitely improves their likely outcome, as high as 4th.

On the Austin news last night, they stated Leo won the decathlon thus winning 10 points for the track team. Hopefully this help in the quest for the cup!

The win by Leo was nice, he was expected to finish second so he got 10 instead of 8 points. Those 2 points could be worth several places in the final rankings.

Here is what to watch. How far above or below 12th place does Texas finish. How far above or below 7th does Stanford finish?

Based on that answer we will know how many CWS games Texas would need to win to take the lead (if they lose the Supers its over)
