Rumor circulating that Mack Brown requested a meeting with school administration last night (Sunday) and ultimately advised them that he will step down. No details on whether it will be during the season or after.

No confirmation on the details yet. This is big news.

Very interesting developments if true. I have supported Mack but it is time.

This actually doesnt surprise me at all. Another class move if true. I just find it hard after robinsons hiring that this could be true.

Although Mack pulled his slick talk and said he wouldn't have put Greg R. as the DC if he didn't think he couldn't turn this thing around. (Cough Cough BullS#%@)

Not buying it. No way they jerk the rug out from under Brown. He might be failing, but he doesn't deserve to be fired after two games.

I have serious doubts about this. He truly believes in his mind he can get back to 10-11 win seasons and still do it this year.

So torn by this. Unless they can bring in somebody great immediately I think he should finish the year.

I think IF Mack offered to step down immediately that Major would be named interim head coach. Still, right now there is too much speculation, rumor and shit flying around.

The shift is happening. Don't be surprised to see DeLoss and Mack gone at the end of the season. There are several reports about searches for a new AD being discussed simultaneous to the discussion about Mack Brown's future at Texas.

If Deloss leaves look for Rick Barnes AND Augie to be under the microscope also. Both programs have been crap for the last few years. We could very well see an overhaul completely within the Texas athletic program.

The motion is in place for change to occur. They will be done after the season. However the AD search is undeway. I would expect a new AD is named within months

Gotta think Oliver Luck is on the list.

Bob Bowlsby, current Big 12 Commissioner is a strong candidate.
Bowlsby wouldn't be bad at all. Has the background in his stints at Stanford and Iowa as AD. Liked his diatribe on NCAA reform too. Basically said the NCAA is a joke.

Listen folks, a Bob Bowlsby and David Shaw (current Stanford head coach) pairing would make sense. Shaw is young, a good coach and has the tools.

Shaw wouldn't be my first choice obviously but this could be a likely scenario.

Rumors have meetings taking place in Dallas tomorrow and Thursday with Bowlsby.

Honestly... That was downright embarrassing the other night. Change is always the hardest thing to do, and there is no "right" time to change. When friends and foes are patting us on the back, and holding back their tongues, then its bad. Nice to see wheels are in motion, and with all the rumors... Wheres there smoke theres fire. Bring in a hard nosed football coach, someone who is ready to teach and committed to win... Someone who cares less about the LHN.

And one last thought... Why is it mack brown meeting with... When it should read "texas administration meeting with head coach mack brown about his future". Last i heard we are the university of texas... Not the university of mack browns...
