One of the other posters (sorry I should go in and get their name) said that Texas is one of 10-15 destination schools.

Are there that many?

Texas ND, USC, Michigan, Ohio St

Am I leaving someone out?

FSU OU Miami Florida Tennesee- honorable mention?

Texas, ND, Bama, Michigan, tOsu, USC -no question -Platinum

Fsu, LSU, Penn St, Florida, Ou -I think they are next 5 best jobs. -Gold

Tennessee, Georgia, Ucla, Oregon(they have arrived), Nebraska -maybe I'm missing someone here -Silver

Pretty good list. There are a smattering of other schools that have the potential to win a NC and if they did would be destination spots. They would include. Arizona St, Washington, CU, Arkansas, a$m, Miami, Wisconsin, Michigan St., Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, of course Auburn. Any of those schools with the right set of circumstances could become a big wig, but would take the right coach at the right time.

To me destination job mean the job retains it's prestige even when it is not on top, because there is always the potential for the giant to rise, that and the potential of virtually unlimited resources.

I am only 27 years old, so for me it's rather difficult to see Penn St in that light, they just weren't all that appealing to me growing up. I can remember them winning the Fiesta bowl v FSU with the Seahawks fb at Qb, but not much more than that.

You forgot the best school of all...right here in H-town. UofH! Houston! Go Cougs!...anybody?...anybody?...Oh the hell with you all!

Lol...just kiddin' guys

Beauty in the eyes of the beholder. Malzahn claims Auburn is his destination school.

Well, I've been to Pullman, WA. I can tell you, it had better be someplace you're going to on purpose. I'd call that a destination school. It's in the middle of freaking nowhere.
