Fort Worth All Saints Episcopal offensive lineman Demetrius Knox will have his hats on the table on Saturday the 26th and will select the collegiate team that he will play for. His high school teammate Daniel Gresham has already committed to the Horns and Knox and Gresham have always promised to play together in college, but we shall see.

The players for Knox's services are:

  • TCU (home town school)
  • Texas
  • Ohio State
  • Alabama

He is the top rated O-Lineman in Texas and a 4-star Rivals player.

He has always maintained that Texas is his #1 school, even after the Horns took a beating at the hands of the Sooners (in which Knox was on-hand to watch), but the scepticism for us fans is certainly there. I thought he would committ immediately after Gresham did but KNox said he would weigh his options and do the tour thing.

I still think he comes to Texas but he is making us all hold our breath.

Speaking of Gresham I found this yesterday...

2014 looks like another banner year for the Texas Longhorns. Their recruiting class is taking shape nicely. How nicely? They are on a tear with HS juniors.

Donald Catalon is regarded as one of the best HS Juniors in the country. He is 6' and 200 pounds. They also recruited a FB to block for him. Daniel Gresham from All Saints Episcopal HS in Ft Worth weighs in at 240 and may even grow into a lineman.

Lorenzo Joe is being recruited as a wide receiver, even though he plays QB at Abilene Cooper in Abilene. At 6'3 he has the frame but needs to put some weight on his 185 pound body.

Derrick Roberson is an elite pass rushing DE. He needs to put some weight on his 6'3 215 pound frame but scouts say he could be the next elite pass rusher at UT.

Last but not least is the cream of the crop. QB Jerrod Heard from Geyer HS is called the most athletic QB in the country. He is being recruited by every program in the country and the next 14 months will be dedicated to keeping him in the fold.

This is only the start of another great class by Texas. I only expect it to get better.

Jerrod Heard commitment is HUGE. Many folks are focusing on Swoopes, which is great, but Heard could be a player to reckon with when it is all said and done. Duke Catalon has mad skills and lets us continue the flow of top tier running backs (Kyle Hicks in the '13 class and then Catalon in '14). Mack continues to recruit well but the verdict is still out on how the '13 class finishes up.
