Per another site Texas is out of it for Lodge the #1 ranked WR in Texas. Looks like his final three are Aggy, Ole Miss, LSU.. All SEC schools nothing to see here move along.

You say negative. I say it's reality under the current landscape of college football. I heard arrogant UT fans comment for over 3 yrs before aggy left for the SEC that it would have no impact on recruiting. Well I think it is fair to say it has had a little impact. But hey you're right nothing to see here move along

Reality is we have a staff that has only been on the job for five months where the other staffs have been on these kids for years.

Our program has been degenerating for fours years. It is going to take a couple of years to repair it.

The other 'reality' is UT will likely never join the SEC.  Get over it.  Do you honestly think aggy was chosen over The University?  If so, you probably shouldn't be in sports-talk radio.

IMHO, aggy's recruiting "success" (which is dubious if you look at the real contributions from their 2012 & 13 classes) will come at the expense of other programs - not UT.  Sure, they stole a few from us recently due to the Mack Brown uncertainty and transition.  We expected it.

Your tag line "nothing to see here, move along" is getting tiresome.  How about offering a suggestion as to how we can improve recruiting?  Other than "join the SEC".  That ain't happenin'.  

If a kid doesn't want to come to UT because of Coach Strong's disciplined approach to running a program - good luck.  That player is probably more committed to partying and hanging out than he is to earning a valuable degree.  He's not the type of kid we want in our program - talent be damned.

If that makes us "arrogant", than so be it.

What's even stupider is labeling Strong's class a failure before they've even played a down.  Or maybe you failed to notice Strong had three 1st Rd draft choices this year that he groomed at Louisville?  What were their Rivals' star-ratings coming out of high school?

Give the ag adjunct a call.  Maybe Luicci needs a programming assistant.  Y'all can gather around the mason jar for a S-E-Circle Jerk

Recruiting matters, but player development does too and it was neglected recently.

Look, I'm not saying we don't need to land a percentage of 4 & 5*s. Coach Strong was behind the 8-ball this recruiting cycle and Mack slipped the past 4 years.  What are we "holding Strong accountable for" until we see what his kids can do?  I don't think Patterson can say, "Charlie, you need to land at least a handful of 5* recruits every year".  Based on whose evaluation?  Rivals?  247's?

I just want to know what do you think we should do to better position UT?

I will probably get a chance to see Lodge up close and personal this fall since I officiate THSFB in DFW.  I'll give you a brief report afterwards.  I'm just tired of hearing this "the sky is falling" recruiting nonsense.

Sumlin hasn't done squat with his guys yet...just Sherman's.

The problem I have is when there's something positive like the Gentry commit or us advancing to the Supers, he never says a word. Guess his fix is just being negative every moment he has. Crap man, I'm just a fan of Longhorn everything and I'm not going to attempt to speak about things I don't know about, but all due respect the only person I see talking aggiest is you. Hell I know that aggies are a head of us on the recruiting front at this time... but frankly my friend I don't give a dam. You know why.... because I have hope and I see a pattern to everything that Strong touches. So you may be right about Strong and the sky may be falling we shall see? You seem like a fun guy. and smart too. until now, i'd been stuck in the past and holding coaches accountable the old-fashioned way...wins and losses.
you've opened my eyes to the need to hold charlie and company accountable NOW. What's our next move? a written warning next time some kid says he's going to school somewhere else ? and after three warnings, we fire him right? now THAT'S something to see.

This kind of constant negative crap is exactly why I left OB over a year ago. It is waaaay too early to start criticizing Charlie Strong.
