8 out of 10 years defenses finished in the top ten in PA/G. LSU and Auburn are really outliers too, because if I recall both of those teams created a lot of points off turnovers.

 
How many of the head coaches of the winning teams were more defensive minded like Strong?

 
Auburn snuck in with a low rated D, but obviously was good enough to slow down Oregon in the BCS title game. Chizik hit is zenith, and then came crashing down to...not sure what he is up to today, but guarantee he is still getting hefty checks from Auburn!

 
Agree on the NCAA. Debatable at the NFL level, although Seattle and Pittsburgh make that a much tougher argument.

Throw in the NYG shutting down the undefeated Pats, or the Pats shutting down the Greatest Show on Turf. I think a pretty solid arguement could be made it works on the NFL level too.
