Debate - Pros and Cons - Mike Tomlin

h85C335FE

Pros - Super Bowl winning coach...twice. Only 41 years old. Got his start in college.

Cons - Hasn't ever coached a major college program. Been in the NFL for years.

Same type questions about Tomlin as I have about Gruden. What kind of assistants would he hire? What kind of offense would he run? Would the limits on time coaching players be something he could adjust to.

Personally, I think Tomlin would be the best possible hire. If he came in and was able to recruit top level talent in addition to his ability to X and O coach we'd be playing for titles in no time. With him only being 41, would he want to move on if he were successful here? The NFL would always be a possibility.

Con- He has possibly the best job in all levels of football and coaches for a franchise that never fires their head coach, so the supposed interested from Tomlin sounds like an agent doing his job and trying to get a pay raise for his client

He might have the best job in all levels and they might not fire anyone, but they are still a bad football team right now and getting any younger. He might see the writing on the wall.

1) That's the fault of the GM

2) Cowher went through some bad stretches and kept his job
