AJ McCarron said that Saban has never lied to him. So Dan Patrick took that to mean Saban has told his QB he Saban would be coming back. Then Dan P said he feels the Saban is just enjoying the spot light and will stay at Alabama.

I got news for Dan P he don't have a McPhaul in his staff. My friends y'all have a great weekend

The quote from AJ McCarron was that he asked Saban "a while back" and his response was that he was staying.

From what I understand, this conversation took place earlier in the season. I also don't get the sense that Saban is one of those guys who craves the spotlight.

It was suppose to be at an awards dinner last night that all I know. The thing is people like Dan P don't have a McPhaul and Dan P said he did not think Saban would leave and go to Texas just trying to steal the spot light. Dan P also said the only way Saban can be called a great coach he has to prove he can do it in the NFL I call that crap. My friends y'all have a great weekend.

Tend to agree.

He does not seem to love interacting with the media a whole bunch.

I guess that will have to change if he gets the purported share of LHN revenues.

Spotlight? Has anyone really seen him, has he said anything? He's not in the spotlight, he's avoiding it like the plague.

ESPN wouldn't touch paying a coach w/a cell phone tower. That rumor is a crock.

Saban may well come, but guys claim a distant Mizzou relative just in case. This ain't over till it's over. Tons of moving pieces.

Hope to infinity and beyond CNS comes, but prepare thyself, just in case.

No disrespect at all to McPhaul. And, btw, I'm no insider; it's just my gut getting queasy.

Hey guys I have only looked at Dan P show a couple of times. I just turned onto the show this morning to see what he might be saying.

I also agree that Saban don't crave the spot light. How do y'all feel about the Dan P show. It looks like a circus the way he walks around shoots baskets and putting the golf ball around. My friends y'all have a great weekend.

why a sportscaster would rely on a QB for information on his coaches is beyond me. Most of the time, the situation is very fluid, and i doubt Saban would trust his true information to a 22 year old who's on his way out the door as well.

Bama is getting desperate, IMO. Having McCarron come out and say Saban had never lied to him and wouldn't expect him to lie now. They are playing his kids against him. Pretty pathetic as far I'm concerned. McCarron doesn't need to put himself in the middle of something like this. It's a business decision and if Saban comes to Texas that's what it'll be - business. You gotta believe the Bama boosters prompted McCarron to step out there and make his proclamation. Pathetic! They have few bullets left in the chamber and are bringing out the babies. I know AJ is a grown man, but he didn't need to be put in the middle of this. I feel certain he was pressured into making the statement he made. It's one of the last-ditch manipulations Bama can pull. Finebaum failed, Herbstreit doesn't factor into the equation. Whatever happened to commentary along the lines of "Nick needs to do what's best for Nick?" Rather it's been "No way he'd EVER leave Alabama for Texas. That would be simply crazy." I don't recall ESPN and its ilk seemingly rooting against Michigan when Miles was rumored by Nostradamus himself Herbstreit to be leaving LSU. FWIW

No successful grown ass man is going to let a 21 year old kid make life decisions for him, especially when that kid is a senior and said decision will have virtually no life impact on that kid. I think like all things the plan is to stay the course until a perfect opportunity comes along that includes location, money, quality of life, new opportunity to cement legacy and most important timing. When all those things line up then an opportunity came along that he couldn't pass up.

The spotlight is on University of Texas,Powers, Mack, Patterson and THE FAN BASE :)

Totally agree on McCarron. No reason he needs to be in the middle of this, like that. He is leaving anyway, and in no way effects him.

Not just this, but people act like AJ can be nothing but a beacon for truth when, for all we know, Saban DID confide in him but asked him to keep it quiet until the end of recruiting, etc. Nick is a mentor to AJ,it's quite a stretch to assume that if asked to stay quiet, this twenty something year old kid is going to tell Nick Saban, the man who has taken him to places he'd probably never have seen otherwise, 'Sorry, Coach, but I just can't lie to ESPN.'

If Saban doesn't come, which I believe he's not. This board better get a lot of crow ready

I think we all understand your point of view here. You and orangeman01 have made it clear since EVERY one of your posts is about refuting Saban to Texas.

Don't let him draw you in Lukus. He is just stirring the pot. I have already used my ignore button on a few of em. Someone asked the other day about hearing dissenting opinions, but we already know what these jackwads have to say!
