Mack to announce anything concerning his future this week.

Nothing has changed with the Selection Committee. Everyone involved is thrilled to death with the win but, they are committed to moving forward.

One source told me that it was easier to expedite the Dodds resignation than Browns because of the different circumstances surrounding Dodds. The same source told me that he felt bad for Powers because he is going to have to have a uncomfortable conversation with Brown concerning the timing of Browns resignation.

McPhaul:

I am curious, if Powers did not have four of the nine regents trying to push him over a cliff (or if Wallace Hall suddenly disappeared), would change still be coming?

Can you speak to Dodds trying to block Oliver Luck?

This is great info! I think many fans are considering the potential of Mack buying himself more time with the win. Good plan moving forward it sounds like. great win but we need transformative change.

If Mack would to rally the team to win the Big XII, there is not way they will remove him as the head coach. I know it sounds insane to mention it, but it is no more than beating OU by 2 touchdowns.

1. I don't know about you but I have a hard time envisioning Texas playing every remaining game like in that beastmode manner. Hats off to them if they do.

2. I hope Powers has enough foresight to understand that it is in the best interest of the athletic program to make a change.

I'll know more later this week but if President Powers is about to start a year term as Chair of the AAU. Politically, I think it would be disastrous for the UT Board of Regents to remove the standing Chair of the AAU. I think that is why (many have reported/speculated) that Wallace Hall tried to get a vote in August to oust Powers; Hall needed to do it before Powers started the 1 year term as the Chair.

I don't know when the term starts but this release was from October 2012 which leads me to believe that the term starts soon. The BoR might be running out of time to force Powers out. Which is good news for UT grads as well as the current state; this turmoil and level of discord isn't good for anyone.

I think you're missing a verb in the sentence above and it's an important verb that can change the entire point. :)

Oh shit, I'm in trouble, the verb cop is here.

Beevomav Mack will not be the coach in 2014 regardless of how the season ends.

If he wins the Big XII and goes to a BCS bowl, no way he is fired. All I am saying. He may choose to leave on top, but it will be his choice.

Lets pump the brakes on the BCS talk. It was a major win against OU, but honestly who the hell wouldnt have beat Blake Bell?

I have not watched too much of Blake Bell but from what I saw Saturday Stoops might want to reevaluate his starter. Bell was horrific.

What will the settlement/buyout cost the University? I hear those numbers are really fluctuating from high to extremely high.

You guys keep saying this is Mack's last season, but where is the evidence? He looks to be doing the same thing he did last season, and that's making the team better. Untill I read him say he is leaving, I don't buy it. I think you guys are way underrating how big that win over OU was Saturday?

I have no inside information to support my opinion, and until one of my learned friends here shows me some, I will stand by my opinion.

5-10 million. His contract say 2.5 or so I think.

Mack could grease us for more than 10 I fear. Depends how much of a stink he wants to make.
