Crossfire with McPhaul - 11/20/2013

great stuff MCPhaul. I know we respect El Mahico and his insight. What do you think about his statement Saban is not coming?
El Mahico is my brother from another mother. However, our sources are different people. My sources are still confident we bring Saban on. If I hear something that doe not sound like that may happen, I will defiantly inform you all.

I was interested to see if you were still at 100 percent or not. Thanks for your insight.
I guess I was not! Some of my sources know Patterson well and were surprised they did not see him pressing flesh in all the Clubs?

I could not help but laugh when I read the post about Mack announcing his retirement and everyone except the poster tried to talk him out of it. On the contrary, NO ONE is going to try and talk Mack Brown out of retirement this time around when the power brokers have been seeking his resignation for the past two years.
Even though it was a copy-paste, I finally indirectly made my way into a weekly feature on a web site. lol

Thanks again McPhaul! Saban or not, I have confidence Texas will once again become the gold standard in sports behind the vision of Patterson.

In regards to Saban. Doesn't his current contract state that schools must ask permission to talk to Saban and if that's the case wouldn't this been reported by major networks and have the Alabama insiders talking too?

It's already been reported by national media that UT regents have spoken to Saban's agent.

Luck had the AD job until they Patterson is hired? Saban is coming to Austin. It's a done deal, until it went to 60% and now back to 100%?

I keep reading all these "Insider Material" and it makes me wonder? It's not like anyone cares what I think anymore, but so far I see a lot of talk and not one tangible thing?

OK..I give up..who is McPhaul and why should anyone pay any attention to the man?

in the spring if you haven't been paying attention. They'd have to ask again if they have started talking again which there's absolutely no evidence for.

It's all it has been. Talk.

It's all it has been. Talk.
Then there is this..It seems to fly in the face of some fancied deal for Mack to retire?

"Mack will decide when he goes," said Jamail, who talks to Brown daily. "There are so many rumors spread on the Internet these days, but he is not in any trouble. I would know it. I think he may decide to stay or go, but he hasn't decided yet."
And when might he decide?

"I have no idea," Jamail said.

It will be a huge plus if Patterson and whomever handle things very differently in terms of 'exposure'. Clearly, the current staff's preoccupation with what's being said or written is both foolish and a waste of time, time that could have been better spent in just about any pursuit relative to the team.

I am tired of caring about the program in its present state so I have decided to start ranting about the media relations people inside Bellmont, specifically Nick Voinis and Bill Little. I don't know either of them, but from what people on the board have said. Nick is a prick and Bill is a rather nice individual. I don't think either has a freaking clue how to use social media to connect the fans with the sports programs. Their obsession with what is being said is reason enough in my mind to remove them from the payroll. Think about it. They could get a student intern with a digital camera to take pictures of the gameday experience showing how the staff gets ready, what the locker rooms look like, during the pregame meal, in the tunnel about to come out, sidelines during the game and clean up after. The program from a unique perspective. No cost. It would have most of us occupied for a couple of hours per week, let recruits see inside the program and help the fans connect with the through social media. Do they do something like that, no. Instead, they hover over message boards obsessing with the effects of their lousy job performance. I could come up with a hundred ways to use media to help the fans connect with the programs. They can't come up with any. I hope Patterson cleans house in Bellmont and I hope he does it ruthlessly. Whoever the new coach is, I hope we give him a program he is worthy of and I hope he starts rebuilding soon.
