Was the meeting with Mack and Powers Sunday morning after the BYU game? The note indicates at that meeting Mack told Powers he would fire Manny. Since Manny was fired sometime Sunday morning or afternoon, wouldn't that meeting have to have been fairly early Sunday between Mack and Powers? The way I read the update, it says Mack said he would fire Manny, not he had fired Manny.

thanks for the read. interesting on your info re ash. 180 degrees from the report on OB a couple of days ago stating ash could return to practice as soon as next week.

I don't what to say Street? That is not what I'm hearing? Also not sure why we would burn Swoopes' redshirt if there was a chance of David coming back?

Yes.

It is my understanding that Mack and Manny met around 1:00 pm

Mack isn't winning the Big 12. And even if he did, the change at AD probably ended any chance of him returning.

McPhaul, thanks for the report.

Please give percentage based on the likelihood of Swoopes playing in the first half of the Kansas game. I say first half bc the game SHOULD NOT be on the line in the first 30 min but would allow TS to really show us something.

What are the chances we see him early?

My thoughts as well. I'm not trying to bash OB, but it seems like they have been fed more and more misinformation lately. With the burning of Swoopes' shirt, I'm with you that that has to be an indication that Ash isn't close....but not much has made sense in regards to decision making by this staff over the past few years, so you never know.

Thanks McPhaul and thanks for sharing your info. Meeting Sunday morning after a game, I guess that would be a "Come to Jesus meeting."

I don't know why Powers would align himself politically with Mack. Mack has had a rough 4 years, would be smart for Powers to distance himself...

I kind of doubt we see Ash again this year as well, but I think its premature to assume his career is over. I think Swoopes' shirt was burned (it should've been done weeks ago) in order to start getting him ready for next year. Whether Swoopes' is backing up Ash next year or running the show himself, that obviously remains to be seen.

I think Swoopes will be backing up Ash next year because I think Ash will return.

Let's throw in another wrinkle..

Longhorns win the Big XII and beat Agie in a BCS game.

Is anyone going to tell me Mack is still forced out?

Aggie won't be going to a BCS bowl...not possible.

The only way we play them is in the Cotton Bowl.

We aren't playing A&M in a bowl game anytime soon. The money guys arent going to further risk this programs standing by letting a guy Mack Brown whiffed on whip the crap out of us on national television.

i think you misunderstand. i have no doubt that's what you're hearing. presumably ketchum (or brown...forgot who wrote the piece) are reporting what THEY are hearing.
all i said it is interesting two people with sources are hearing two entirely different things about the qb of the team.

I would the chances are high are it makes no sense whatsoever on burning his redshirt.
